This essay will reflect on the process of teamwork skills for inter-professional collaboration.
From this assessment, I have learned about the importance of bereavement, dying and death in
regular places like work, school, and home that would help me in the future in building a strong
relationship with the compassionate community. As a nurse, it will be useful to treat the patients
by promoting advance care directives (Fox et al., 2018). As a result, it will also help me in the
future to work cooperatively and collaboratively with the team members. I acknowledged that
working cooperatively and collaboratively with the team members helps in acquiring teamwork
skills. On the other hand, the cohesive group factors help in achieving greater personal
cooperation and support among the group members (Paige, Garbee, Yu & Rusnak, 2017). I
gathered knowledge that to overcome challenges related to organizational activities, it is
significant to work together as a team.
On the other hand, I also gained knowledge towards developing emotional intelligence while
working with the group members. Debriefing and reflecting by the project workforce and
organizer will help in recognizing team-wide opinions and views on experiences (Britton,
Simper, Leger & Stephenson, 2017). It helped to gain relevant information about the limitations,
strengths, feedback, and opinions of the team members. I learned that co-operative learning
would help in reinforcing learning among the group members through peer review along with
discussion. Whereas, collaborative learning is determined to be the knowledge which is
constructed socially based on a different perspective of an individual (Yu, Webster & Weller,
2016). This understanding will help me in the future to work effectively with the team members.
I also learned that collaboration and effective communication is the foundation for creating a
healthy team that helps in producing high-quality outcomes. However, collaborative working
possess shared the responsibility of the team members to execute the work successfully.
Therefore, it can be said that working in a small team within the healthcare sector is significant
for a nurse to acquire effective learning that includes co-operation and collaboration (Renschler,
Rhodes & Cox, 2016).
To build a strong and positive relationship with the team members, it is essential for a nurse to
identify the shared goal of the team. There must be appropriate communication among the team
members to acquire organizational goals. Moreover, I realized that working collaboratively
needs consensus and clear objective while making decisions. To work together as a team, it is

also essential to build respect and trust for other team members (Mukhtar, Hussain, Perveen,
Afzal & Gilani, 2018). I gained knowledge that it is essential to outline the roles and
responsibilities clearly to achieve success. It would help me in the future to identify my roles and
responsibilities as a nurse and a team member. I also need to organize as well manage the group
processes effectively that helps in mediating conflict efficiently and quickly. It helps the team
members to perform their task competitively as well as independently.
