In terms of concept Virginia Henderson states that as a patient is served treatment and is on the
way to recovery, it is significant that the patient gains the ability to take appropriate of herself or
himself when discharged from medical care. In this case, it is the responsibility of the nurses to
provide care for the patients by supporting the patient to achieve milestones and goals on the way
to a healthy lifestyle and become more independent (Ndiok & Ncama, 2018). In comparison,
Imogene King states that most of the individuals decide to become a nurse as they seek to
contribute in helping patients to make them healthy. To do this, a nurse needs to set clear
objectives and implement appropriate steps to attain those objectives.
In terms of assumptions, Virginia Henderson's Need Theory focuses on this issue by guiding
nurses to help patients that will support them to take care of themselves when they leave the
healthcare setting. Whereas, Imogene King Theory of Goal Attainment emphasizes the
procedure to help nurses to strengthen the nurse-patient relationship by supporting their patients
to reach the goals they have set for their health.
In terms of implications, Virginia Henderson reveals that the performance of a nurse is
determined to be an independent practice that is to be executed when a patient lacks physical
strength and knowledge. While Imogene King has highly contributed to the development of
nursing knowledge that is used by nurses to enhance the quality of patient care (Williams, 2017).
In terms of applications, Henderson's Need Theory can be used in nursing practice by setting

I disagree with the statement as I believe that in nursing practice or education, there is no
difference between intentional and unintentional plagiarism. It can be said that plagiarism is
plagiarism no matter how in what situation it was presented. It possesses similar consequences,

and the individual who is involved in plagiarism will be severely punished (Lynch et al., 2017).
However, in nursing education, plagiarism is determined to be cheating, and a dishonest act to
others as well as to themselves regarding the knowledge professes by an author. Intentional
plagiarism is regarded as an intention to deceive or defraud the institution or the readers.
Meanwhile, unintentional plagiarism is considered to be a knowledge deficit, and both possess
similar negative outcomes. As a result, intentional or unintentional plagiarism both creates wrong
impression on the professor. Therefore, to avoid unintentional plagiarism, it is significant for the
individual involved in nursing practice to focus towards and improve writing competence
(Smith, 2016). They must maintain their notes, and appropriate reference information to prevent
themselves from unintentional plagiarism.
