Question 1
The worldview describes the reality perceptions and models that are created by the mind.
Worldviews are made up of so many beliefs and attitudes towards life, oneself and various
situations (Cracraft & Claramunt, 2017). Most of the questions concerning the world and how
many things work can be answered using various answers and theories. In nursing, the
worldview is very important in predicting theories for every nursing paradigm. Although each
person has a worldview, it is believed that not every worldview is good. However, empirical
paradigms give rise to several theories in the field of nursing. These worldviews, based on an
individual conviction about something influences the actions to be taken in various situations.
Therefore, understanding the worldview is based on its actualization and the way people want it
to be, on the basis of the current life in the world.
Question 2
In most cases, the worldviews affect the outcomes and rates of patient's care. An example
is where a subsect of people has a higher tendency of developing psychiatric conditions as
opposed to the rest of the population. While the worldview of such communities would associate
psychiatry with supernatural powers, nurses expect that diagnosis of psychiatry in such
populations would take longer than in others. It is also important for nurses to understand the
cultural beliefs and worldview of various issues in the communities that they work in (Tilburt,
2010). This will offer a comprehensive communication during healthcare in case they have
differing worldviews. Moreover, the worldviews of psychiatric nurses could have some form of
bias when helping patients and this might cause adverse health outcomes. It has been found that
patients and nurses of the same social and cultural beliefs and race have a good health
interaction.

Question 3 (student 1)
This is a very good nursing experience and demonstration of the nursing theories and
world care. The client has a belief that since her husband passed away while being treated in this
facility, she is not sure whether the nurses are doing things right this time around. However,
while this could be quite humiliating to the student nurse she does not give up but goes on to
urge the patient to stop using the bath and body works which causes rashes all over her body.
After taking time and listening to the history of the female patient, the student nurse has changed
her worldview and mindset about her and she does not feel stressed when meeting and handling
her (Vetter & Latimer, 2017).
Question 4 (student 2)
The students clearly outline the differences and similarities of Fawcett and the other
theorists concerning the worldview. In the Fawcett concept, the worldviews are composed of the
schemas that are, reaction, reciprocal interactions and simultaneous action (McEwen & Wills,
2017). While other nursing theories can be conflicting, the Facetts worldview is distinct in each
schema. The students, however, appreciate that the worldviews are affected by beliefs,
assumptions, and values and while these can sometimes conflict, complement and overlap, they
are important when offering nursing care. Nurses are therefore at liberty to choose any
worldview theory that they choose to, as long as it helps them in offering the best patient's care.
