Workplace Violence comprises of activities that happen in the workplace which are
psychologically and physically destructive. Violence is a disregard to workplace protocol and It
is not a part of the job description. According to Kingma, (2014) the two most common types of
violence include patient violence and worker to worker violence. Patient violence involves
causing damage while they receive service. In this case, they have a direct relationship with the
business. Worker to worker violence involves harassment between employees.
Workplace violence is a very critical matter that is worth studying. This is because nurses are
worth enjoying their rights and freedom while working, like any other occupation. Also, the
study prepares them physiologically for the problem and enables them to come up with a
solution. Nurses need to be physically and physiologically fit for better performance in their
work. Physical violation is easy to heal. After healing, nurses get physiologically affected due to
that encounter. In order for the nurses to keep working, an environment free from violence has to
be created. Otherwise, some nurses will drop out due to emotional torture. Also, fewer people
will pursue nursing.
Strategies for managing qualitative data
Organizing data by Coding-Example is when reading a transcript and you find that the main
theme being talked about in the first paragraph is love and happiness. The second paragraph
mostly refers to sadness. ` Love and happiness’ and `sadness’ will be the codes for the two
paragraphs. Through these codes, concepts are developed and themes which summarize the
whole transcript without interfering with the concept of the original data (Devers, 2013).
Keeping track of analyses by highlighting important text and paragraphs. Highlighting enables
one to locate important themes that will remind you of the concept which you have read.
