important factors of the well-being of an individual are physical activity, good nutrition, and
healthy body weight. These three factors can help lower the risks of an individual developing
serious health conditions such as obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity among
others (Tande, Magel & Strand, 2010). One should, therefore, lead a healthy lifestyle to prevent
these health conditions. A healthy lifestyle may contain choices like having a healthy eating plan.
A healthy eating plan should have fat-free or low-fat products, fruits, lean meat, whole grains,
vegetables, poultry, nuts, beans, and fish. An individual must ensure that the plan stays within
their daily calorie needs.
According to several pieces of research, the amount of calories that one consumes directly has an
impact on their weight. If you consume more calories than the body can burn then over time
bodyweight will go up. Additionally, an individual must avoid fad diets to deal with this chronic
disease. Fad diets are those that recommend entirely cutting out some groups of food or extreme
fasting. These fad diets may be unhealthy and can have adverse side effects (Brambila-Macias et
al., 2011). One should, therefore, focus on other health practices and diet plans that will lower
their calorie intake. These strategies help in producing successful weight loss and maintaining
weight. As a result, obesity is prevented and an individual stays healthy.
It is also important to note that healthy eating does not mean one should give up on their favorite
food. Healthy eating is more about finding a balance by simply lowering the frequency of taking
your comfort foods that are high in calories (Brambila-Macias et al., 2011). You can eat them
once in a while and gradually replace them with healthier foods and more physical activities.
