The goals of the good and efficient nutritional program is to improve the nutritional
status of the children so that they do not suffer from nutritional disorders and it is highly
critical that the various types of the new foods that are introduced to the children – are
adequately planned according to the needs of the children (Brzostek and Ukleja). The good
and the efficient nutritional program must be able to involve the various children in the early
years into the preparation procedure of the meal. This is another fundamental goal of the
good and efficient nutritional program. Providing nutritional snacks and the foods are also
critical and this should be targeted at disease prevention strategy and nutritional development
of children. The goal of the nutritional program is also to improve the nutritional
understanding of the parents who would be feeding their children with the snacks and the
food mentioned in the timetable of the nutritional program (Mikes, Monica L., et al.).
Another fundamental goal of a good and effective nutritional program is to make the parents
of the young children understand the concept of a balanced diet and that is the exact
proportion – scientifically to maintain a proper nutritional status in the children who are being
intervened with the nutritional program. It is very important and also very vital that the good
nutritional program aims to develop a good and positive attitude in the children about and
regarding the idea of eating the ‘right foods’ and similarly in the parents – the idea is to help
the parents with feeding of right food to their children in early years. The goal is to create an
awareness and understanding in the parents of the children about the right ways of feeding
their children with the right food and snacks. The goal is also to build a healthy eating habit.
The actual importance of the healthy diet lies in the fact that the children when in their
early years are still very flexible and it is important and also very vital that the parent take
advantage of this early age their children are in, to teach them with the right ways of eating
the right food and familiarize them with the concept of ‘balanced diet’. The various aspects of
the parent teaching and creating the awareness in them about health status and nutrition can

be done through seminars and workshops undertaken in the local community framework, and
the dieticians and the nutritionists must use their knowledge as important tool to help the
parents and the children with the right diets on a daily day to day basis (Serrano et al.). The
relationship between a healthy life and nutritional intake or uptake lies in the concept of a
balanced diet and nowadays with so many health and social technology in the market, it is
more eating to plan and deliver a balanced diet idea to the parents for their children.
Various issues can actually arise from the nutritional deficits and these can range from
deficiency disorders, hypertension, obesity, unnatural and uncontrolled weight gain.
Malnutrition that is due to the absence or very less amount of desired nutritional intake and
then there is under nutrition sue to less than the required amount of nutritional intake that can
result in various systematic and bone issues in the development years of the growing
children. More importantly, it is to be understood that uncontrolled weight gain in the
children can lead to obesity that can again cause of a lot of cardiovascular problems such as
atherosclerosis, coronary artery disease and dyslipidemia, thus increasing the chances of
stroke and other cardiovascular condition disorders. Hyperglycemia is another clinical
condition that can result from the lack of a balanced diet (Lais, Lucia Leite, et al.).
The certain things which are to be taken into consideration are controlling the limits
of sugary and fatty food intake, the sizes of the portions, the ratios and proportions of
nutrients, the special requirements in cases of children with diabetes and other metabolic
disorders, the time required preparation and cooking, the allergies that the child has (if any to
any food), color textures of the food being served so that they are appealing to the child.
Ideal food for breakfast is eggs, brown bread (toasted), cold cereal with milk, and yoghurt
with fruit. For Lunch, cheese and ham sandwich, cheese and beef burrito, brown rice and
spaghetti are the right foods. For evening snacks, Carrots with ranch, watermelon, Spinach

salad, apples or other fruits are the best food that can be given to the children in their snack
time.
