The work health and safety is considered to be as one of the key relevant community issue.
It is useful in providing the employees with a safe work environment where the company tends
to effectively reduce employee injury and illness within the workplace (Kussmaul, Peri and
Boyd, 2019). Unreliable work health and safety laws which has been caused because of the
inequitable safety standards for the additional costs and workers and confusion within
organization across industry sectors. The health and safety within the Employment act, 1992 is
the key health and safety legislation which helps in preventing the occurrence of harm within the
workplace. The Hazardous substance and the new organism act, 1996 is useful in the effective
management of the relevant hazardous substances within the workplace organization. These
legislative frameworks are highly prominent in effectively providing the performance based
system and effectively manage the hazards within the workplace environment. The safe work
New Zealand is considered to be highly relevant because it is useful in operating with the laws
and models which enhance the operational efficiency. The redevelopment of the existing health
and safety policies and facilitating the Occupational Action Plan to 2013 is one of the prominent
guide to improve the health and safety within the organization. The revised strategic plan will be
useful to effectively reflect upon New Zealand’s strategy vision, goals and outcomes.
Promoting health and safety action plan is significant in promoting the healthy, safe and also
sound environment within the workplace by appropriately outlining the responsibilities and
procedures for the emergencies, incidents, hazards and accidents (Mitchell, Cowan and Tipene‐
Leach, 2016). It is very crucial to carry out hazard identification and assessment and also hazard
prevention and control for carrying out the practice related with the health and safety programs.
Imparting education and training is also one of the appropriate action plan which will be useful
in improving the occupational safety. Monitoring the effectiveness of the model is relevant to
comply with the safety laws within the organization. Continued assistance and development
related with the implementation of the safety model within work health and safety laws is to be
effectively taken into consideration. The management of the organization must also analyse,
monitor and collect the report of the data for the greater improvement related with the safe work
environment (Sinclair, Papps, and Marshall, 2016). The well-functioning and also continuously
improved safe work for the New Zealand will be useful in assisting the stakeholders of the

company to meet relevant set of challenges. The areas must be developed for improving the
workforce in order to be safe and empowered.
From the conducted study it has been summarized that, it is very useful to provide safe
working environment in order to reduce injury and accidental events. It is considered to be
significant to manage the occupational hazards. It is very crucial to carry out hazard
identification and assessment and complying with the legislative laws and government
interaction.
