discipline has wider scopes in increasing the sales revenue of Oak Pub based on the
interrelationship of structural, functional and environmental aspects of the business and the
organization.
The design of products and services: Operations management initiatives has the scope of
aiding in products and service design though either vertical or horizontal integration strategy
which can aid in successful reduction of operational costs. This helps in increasing the
opportunities of increasing profit even if sales of the products do not increase (Slack, 2015).
Manage the quality: through long-term goals of total quality management and short-term
actions for quality assurance, quality control and implementing Six-sigma framework OM can
take initiatives of proper quality management of the products and services offered. For Oak
Pub it can aid in increased customer satisfaction and the customer through positive reviews
and word-of-mouth can increase the popularity of the pub (Van Der Aalstet al., 2016).

OM has significantly important and specific roles in new product and service
design at Oak Pub due to its role in market research, segmentation,
targeting and positioning, service and product development, quality control
and supply chain management during product and service design.
At Oak Pub, product design deals with converting ideas and thoughts in
reality and tangible outcomes. As a survival and growth strategy, product
design, development and introduction plays significant role for Oak pub as
it will help the organization in increasing their sales and revenue.
Operations actualizes the entire process starting from need identification to
physical manufactures of product through three different functions namely
Design and Marketing, Product, Development, and manufacturing.
Operations management’s role in product design and development provides
link and establishes proper connection between marketing initiatives,
customer needs and demands and manufacturing activities resulting in a
product that is able to provide customer satisfaction (Hemmer and Labro,
2016).
