INTRODUCTION
The current assignment is based on health which is a state of well being in all form and
aspects comprise of physical and mental positivity of an individual (Reitz, Scaffa and Dorsey,
2020). This, report includes a discussion about the definition of health along with its importance
in society. Further, Physical aspects of health are also provided along with statistics based on
obesity. Apart from this information about health campaign is also discussed along with change
in its promotion along with discussion about one way through which health is measured.
Task 1
Definition of health
The term health is defined as a state of complete mental, physical and social well being of
an individual which not merely means absence of disease or infirmity but comprise of complete
emotional and physical well being (Strickhouser, Zell and Krizan, 2017). Thus, Health is a
basically a positive concept that emphasise on social and personal resources including all
physical and mental capacities. The concept of good health comprises of marinating a positive
attitude and physical body by the way of following good daily advice and preventive measures to
prevent and reduce chances of disease and mental stress.
Importance of Health in society
Health is important for society as good health and well being is central to all human
happiness contributes in enhancing prosperity and wealth through effective economic progress
by making individuals more productive. Further, society is negatively affected by the presence of
disease among its members which weakness its productivity and lead to more dependent
community (Lancaster and Rhodes, 2020). Thus, heath is important to make a society more
productive and saving the cost of treatment and other hassle in life.
Task 2
Physical aspect of Health (Obesity)
There are five main aspect of health for an individual which comprises of emotional,
physical, spiritual social and intellectual health out if which none can be neglected for ensuring
complete well being of a person. Among these, Physical health is most important and crucial
which is associated with the proper care of body to have an optimal health and well functioning.

In current world, Obesity is one of the key physical illness that is associated with excessive
amount of body fat and increase the chances of other diseases like heart disease, diabetes, high
blood pressure and certain cancers (MacLeod, 2017).
The statistical facts based on obesity comprises of interesting fact which represents that in
the years 2019/19, there were 876,000 hospital admissions where obesity was a factor – an
increase of 23% on the previous period (Extremely concerned’: latest NHS figures reveal 20% of
children are obese, 2020). There was also a 4% jump in hospital admissions that were directly
attributable to obesity (11,117 in total).The report, Statistics on Obesity, Physical Activity and
Diet, England (2020), also found the majority of adults were overweight or obese. This figure
stood at 67% for men and 60% for women – while 20% of Year 6 children were classed as obese
(Meiselman, 2016).
Task 3
Health Campaign On issue of Obesity
A national health campaign is organise by the Government of US every year in the month of
September which is celebrated and taken as National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month every
year. Further, During the past four decades it has been seen that the childhood obesity has
increased and being fourfold among children mainly between the 6 to 11 years old and now one
in three children in the US and the UK are either taken as overweight or obese (National
Childhood Obesity Awareness Month, 2020). Thus, this National Childhood Obesity Awareness
Month is taken as a major health campaign to make encourage families and parents to make
small changes in there routine to direct their children towards better physical health through
leading a daily routine which consists of nutritious diet and physical exercise. Further, under this
health Campaign teachers and school administrators are also motivated to make education and
schools more healthier for students to overcome and reduces the cases of obesity (Blüher, 2019).

Change in health campaign to promote healthy behaviour in physical aspect of health
A vital change has been seen in the health promotion and health campaign which would now
going to include application of more comprehensive strategy which is based on three core
components (Srivastava and Apovian, 2018). These components consists of better behaviour
approach to reach and attract wider number of people from society along with a more strong
policy of framework that would ensures support and carets and a more positive encouragement
together with enhanced empowerment of people in order to gain an improved control on making
ad developing a healthy lifestyle. Apart from this a major change health campaign to promote
healthy behaviour in physical aspect of health is also seen which comprises of more effective and
better use of online and digital platforms. Use of online channels like social media and other
digital technology has provided a better way to communicate and promote health behaviour to a
larger section of society in a more attractive and efficient manner (Gregg and Shaw, 2017).
Task 5
One way to measure health
The most suitable way to measure health comprises of BMI (Body mass index) that is
mainly used to measure physical health and obesity. Use of BMI is useful to measure overweight
and obesity on the basis of height and weight of an individual which basically provides an
estimate of body fat and a good gauge for risk of disease that might occur with excessive body
weight (Larabee, Neely and Domingos, 2020). The strength of making use of BMI as health
measure comprises of fact that it is most cheap and easy to use method to measure an individual

health and the weakness of BMI comprises of that fact BMI percentiles are not widely used and
categorization of BMI percentiles may not adequately define (Seravalle and Grassi, 2017).
CONCLUSION
On the basis of current report, a conclusion can be made out that the concept of health is
related with a complete well being of an individual which is important and vital for society to
lead an enhanced level of productivity and positivity. Further, various health campaign are also
conducted to lead awareness in people in which a recent change is seen which is now comprises
of enhanced use of digital and online platforms. At last, a summarisation can be made that BMI
is used a vital health measure to calculate about the issue of obesity in an individual.
