Introduction
Obesity is a severe medical condition that leads to an excessive accumulation
of fat within the body resulting in an overweighted condition. The factors for causing
obesity are many, and these are- inappropriate diets, defect in genes, lack of
physical exercises, overuse of medications, and even environmental factors. Obesity
is widespread among the children which physical disabilities and mental illness due
to a defect in locomotion. Nurses play an essential role in reducing this issue by
providing adequate and appropriate care. The purpose of the below discussion is to
critically analyze an article on the topic of action in obesity amongst the adolescence
with rational and growing disabilities and the role of nurses to provide care and
development (Bennett et al., 2017).
Objective
The objective of the paper is to focus on the key issues causing obesity
among children with intellectual disabilities and growth along with curing by
telecommunication. (Bennett et al., 2017).
Review of the issue
Obesity is a severe concern in the world. It is a complex medical condition
with a lot of complications. The factors can be inherited genes, unhealthy choice of
life, and lack of physical activities. However, it is seen that children with physical
disabilities face this problem at an excessively high rate and few suggestions have
been delivered. They also accompany by juvenile diabetes, depression, anxiety and
even consumptions of psychotic drugs. Previous researchers have found that family

care was one of the main approaches to treat these patients, such as behavior
alteration, correct diet, education, physical actions. It has also been suggested that
change in the behaviour provides an active step in weight consequences. The

efficiently. The timing of the study is also limited.
Conclusion
The paper described above focused upon the disease of obesity among
children with intellectual disabilities. It developed a framework to improve the
environment, diet, and activities of the patient. It also focused on the utility of the
telenursing in resolving the issues. However, there are many limitations related to
telehealth care like maintaining privacy, following protocols. More researches need
to be followed and planning needs to be done by the nurses to develop and improve
care in this issue.
Plan
The result of the paper gave a good recommendation to practice telenursing.
It involves the use of phones, video communications, and internet support. It will help
deliver care to the person who is unable to approach hospitals. Developmental
disorder children often face anxiety and depression, for that caring through videos
will be active and innovative. Much information can be shared, and tips can be
provided to the patients. Medical reports can easily be accessed and interaction with
the parents and planning of care can be smooth. Many physical exercises can be

communicate with parents in case of emergency for an alteration of nutrition in

developed to prevent the issue. A separate protocol should be planned with children
bearing genetic disorders like Down syndrome, Autism. Planning must be done
based on body weight, height, gender and basal metabolic index. Children of
different ages must be given various sorts of preparation. Family history and daily
activity information must be noted and accordingly, the nurses should improvise the
care routine depending upon the severity of disease and age.
