Obesity is the major concern and issue in health care and social care sector which is found in London UK. Obesity is the serious medical
concern in which human body fat has accumulated to an extent that it may have given negative impact on the human body. It is also a
worldwide epidemic issue which are increased in most western societies and in the developing world. By 2025, if this trend continues,
the global obesity will reach 18% in men and exceed 21% in women. Furthermore, this is the major issue or disease which is most
prevalent in modern society. Due to this, the risk of coronary heart disease has been increased among London population. In order to
reduce this disease protecting children by restricting marketing and taxing sugary drinks. Making healthy choices easier by reducing
sugar, saturated fat and salt in foods, fewer displays and promotions of unhealthy food and traffic light labelling.
Obesity is the most increasing and common problem in England and in London. This places highly affected by this disease due to which
people also facing or increasing diabetes and has let to greater emphasis being places on public health messages about having a healthy
and physical lifestyle. In 2016/2017 26% of population of UK were diagnosed with obese. It is estimated that the proportion of people
classified as obese in England could rise to 48% of women by 2030. In 2016 the ratio of children obese was 16.2% in the south East to
23.6% in London.
Obesity is one of the major issue which is faced by the population of London, there are various causes of obesity in which increase the
weight of the people in UK. The causes can be described as below:
Poor diet: When people eat un-balanced diet, when there is no proper balance in diet it results in the poor diet which is one of the cause
of obesity. Eating large amount of processed or fast food which is rich in fat can result in obesity among the people.
Lack of physical activity: it is the one of the major cause of obesity in the people of UK. Physical activity is an important factor which
may result in decrease in the obesity. As many people in London has got jobs and have very busy schedule and they mostly rely of chairs
and they have no time for physical activities which result in obesity.
Genetics: Another reason for the obesity is genes, as some people in UK point that they try to lose weight but the weight rise again and
again so it is a genetic problem for the such obese people. There are some rare genetic reason which can cause obesity in the people.
Health and social care is a term which is mainly related to the type of services which are available form the health and social-care
providers in UK. Health and social care are the provisions of the social work, social support services or the personal care that are
provides to children and adults in UK. Present report discusses about the major social issue i.e. obesity in London UK which is
considered as one of the major social of the society. Present report also discusses about health and social care structures and provisions
which are related to such social issue.
