Open University Malaysia: OHS Management System and TPM Project

This Master's project submitted to Open University Malaysia in 2019, investigates the effectiveness of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) management systems by implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). The research identifies safety culture factors that TPM can enhance, such as management commitment, worker participation, communication, and training. Questionnaires were distributed to companies with and without TPM to compare safety culture perceptions using t-tests. The project develops a framework of TPM activities to improve safety performance in manufacturing organizations, covering topics from autonomous maintenance to management commitment and worker morale. The study aims to determine if TPM can proactively improve OHS management systems and enhance safety culture within organizations.
