OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH POLICY 2
According to the research, it has been identified that the occupational safety and health
(OSH) policy of 1970 needs to be reformed immediately as over the last twenty years there has
been a continuous occurrence of injuries, illnesses, and deaths in the US workplaces. This
particular issue has become a major concerning fact as in the past years around seventeen
workers used to have workplace injuries per day and which need to be stopped by taking this
issue into consideration (Zikriyoev & Crane, 2019). It has been found that OSHA had been
suffering for the last two decades due to the reinforcement of healthcare inequity. Presently, the
organization is working in strengthening its department by empowering the employers as well as
the employees in reducing and eliminating the dangerous hazards that are taking place in the
workplace.
Most of the occupational safety and health professionals are going to agree with the fact
that a proper OSH promotional program is found to be a great challenge and various kinds of
issues are being faced at every stage during the time of planning and program delivery. The
primary obstacle which is being found in OSH is the program justification. There is a continuous
dilemma during the program planning of the OSH promotional program. After that, the program
implementation is also another problem that occurs during the time of implementation of
healthcare safety activities (Kim, Park & Park, 2016). Finally, there has been a problem with the
program evaluation which also needs to be solved as soon as possible. For overcoming these
issues related to the policy of OSH it is necessary to conduct wellness promotion which can
enhance the safety measures of the US workers in the workplace.
