The topic statement selected for the current research is to analyse the impacts of
occupational safety along with health problems on the performance of employees though
analysing the case of Woolworths Limited. The findings will be aligned with this research topic
based on which analysis will be carried out regarding the ways in which company’s management
can develop occupational health and safety initiatives in enhancing performance of its employees
(Alvesson and Sköldberg 2017).
The research questions that are to be addressed through completion of the current
research are indicated below:

From carrying out the literature review it waas revealed that several issues concerning
occupational safety along with health programs among various employees is attaining popularity

across several regions of the world. Moreover, Bendl, Booysen and Pringle (2018) also revealed
in their previous studies that occupational safety is the most important disciplines which deal
with certain parameters having an intention of dealing with certain conditions that are related
with workplace injuries through monitoring the health conditions of employees in the companies.
From the literature review it was also gathered that Brannen (2017) evidenced that there is an
increased need for addressing occupational health and safety programs among employees in
order to offer them a clear understanding that can take place in the workplace environment along
with implementing the program by leaders in as reasonable manner.
Research Design
Selecting suitable research design can provide the research with increased opportunity of
guiding the reasechers towards attaining a specific research goals based on the set research
objectives. It can also facilitate the researcher in providing the references through decreasing the
targeted results within which the remaining part if the overall research is carried out on a definite
research goal (Buchanan and Bryman 2007). Research design is segmented to be of three types
explanatory, exploratory and descriptive research design. The current research is intended to
analyse the impacts of occupational safety along with health problems on the performance of
employees though analysing the case of Woolworths Limited. Considering same, it is evident
that the current research is focused on explaining a detailed description of the factors that causes
problems for the employees in the company and is related with the occupational safety and
health programs followed in the organisation. Along with analysing the factors or issues related
with occupational safety and health concerns, the researcher is also focused on developing a list
of recommendations in decreasing the research problems at the end of the study (Burke-Johnson
and Onwuegbuzie 2004).

current study fir carrying out the overall research. This research design is suitable as it facilitates
in explaining the cause and effect relationship through forecasting the likely future results of the
ongoing process of research. Moreover, descriptive research design implementation can also
facilitate in attaining reliable research findings as it effectively explores and explains the
problems that confronts the research along with providing research with an opportunity to
broaden the knowledge base and understandable on research issue (Mackey and Gass 2015).

Selecting the most suitable data source is deemed to be a fundamental requirement for the
research success where suitable data collection is based the type of research and the target
findings to be attained. Both the primary and secondary data sources will be employed in
gathering suitable and most valid data for carrying out the analysis of the research findings. Data
will be gathered from these sources to analyse the impacts of occupational safety along with
health problems on the performance of employees though analysing the case of Woolworths
Limited. Secondary data will be collected from the authentic secondary sources that will include

The reasechers will collect primary data through surveying the employees of Woolworths
that work in the Australian business environment. In carrying out the current research, the
researcher has considered gathered data through primary research survey method that will
include questions regarding occupational safety along with health problems on the performance
of employees (Cuervo‐Cazurra et al. 2017). Survey data collection method will serve as the best
option in collecting the quantitative data that can facilitate the researcher in gathering
considerable data from as very huge sample. The survey will be developed asked on the research
objects in collecting the important information. The reasechers will consider gathering the
quantitative data from the secondary data from several sources such as the previous resources,
peer-reviewed resources, articles, books and the company’s website related with the Woolworths
Limited. In current research, the literature review chapter is constructed through collecting the
secondary data in consideration to the research outcomes aligned with the research objectives.
Quantitative data collecting method is deemed to be suitable for the current study for the
reason that this data collection method focuses on objective measurements along with enabling
statistical data analysis that is gathered from questionnaires or through manipulating the pre-

The measurement instrument that will be selected in analysing the impacts of
occupational safety along with health problems on the performance of employees though
analysing the case of Woolworths Limited is the research questionnaire (Flick 2015).
Questionnaire research instrument is deemed to be most suitable to be applied in the current
research that will include a serious of vital questions related with study subject for the purpose of
gathering and measuring relevant information gathered from the respondents. Questionnaire
survey research instrument will be employed by the researcher that will include both the open
and close ended questions. The first section of the questionnaire will include questions on the
demographic profile of the employees; the second section of the questionnaire will encompass

company is among the largest in the Australian retail industry that employs round employees

are chosen from as large selected population. Selecting suitable sampling technique facilitates
the researcher in selecting the most relevant primary data source for blending important
information that is aligned with the aim and objectives set for the study (Mackey and Gass
2015). In the current study of evaluating the impacts of occupational safety along with health
problems on the performance of employees though analysing the case of Woolworths Limited,
the researcher will implement simple random sampling method in carrying out survey with the
employees of Woolworths Limited. This sampling technique will be selected by the researcher as
it can offer equal chances to the survey participants to get selected for the survey. In
consideration to same, the relevant quantitative data fur data analysis has been gathered by

Woolworths Limited will be selected that can provide most vital data regarding the issues related
with occupational safety and health programs. These respondents are selected for the reason that
they will be the most suitable primary data collection participants in attaining the reliable
findings.
Negotiating Access and Maximizing Response
Most reliable and valid data collection will be ensured by the researcher through
negotiating access and maximizing response from the target survey participants of the research.
Negotiating, attaining as well as explaining it the research participants the relevant implications
of the current study will mean attaining their informed consent (Patten and Newhart 2017).
Negotiating access within Woolworths Limited in order to survey the employees of the company
will be possible through personal contacts with the managers of the company or through the
gatekeepers’ n obtaining access. It is anticipated that the success rate of the obtaining access will
be difficult for the reason that they might be hesitant in granting authority to the reasechers for
surveying the employees due to several security reasons. Considering same, the researcher in the
study will consider attaining informed consent from the management level of the company and
ensure them that the data gathered will be confidential.
Data Analysis Method

Limited will be analysed through employing several statistical analytical techniques. In

analysed will be represented in the form of graph and tables for the reason that it can simplify the
interpretation process of the collected data. SPSS statistical data analysis tool will be employed
by the researcher and through using the quantitative data gathered correlation and regression

percentage for anticipating respondent’s insight trends.
