4. Overview
a. Purpose or objectives of the proposal
i. Problem identification
This project represents the positions and application of project administration prcatices
used specifically in civil and structural engineering projects. The project that has been nominated
in the proposal is Construction of an office floor for Atlassian Private Limited in Darwin,
Australia. The company operates with advance information technology applications and as a
result it is accommodating more numbers of employees. However, the existing office floor is
failing to accommodate these employees. In order to provide sufficient accommodation and other
facilities to the working employees, the company is willing to reconstruct their office in the
similar location and tower in Darwin, Australia within a budget and time of respectively $80,000
and 5 months.
ii. Scope
In order to accomplish the construction work and other ongoing projects the company has
undertaken PRINCE2 project management methodology. For improving the employee profiles
to become more socially responsible the company had decided to spend an amount of $40,000 in
the coming 8 months. The scope of the project is to prepare a blueprint of the new office area
considering the requirements if the stakeholders.
