Report
AI Summary
This report details the design and planning of a small office network for Booksforyou, aiming to upgrade its information system. It begins with an introduction and project scope, outlining the goals of network design for two offices, including hardware and software requirements such as database, RADIUS, and web servers. The report then presents the IP addressing plan for both buildings, detailing subnet allocation for different departments. It covers network device configuration, including setting hostnames, system clocks, and IP addresses on router interfaces. The report includes IOS modes and concludes by emphasizing the benefits of the network solution, such as increased efficiency, resource sharing, and improved connectivity. Screenshots of device configurations and a bibliography are also provided. The report is designed to enable the retail book sale company to gain competitive advantage in the current market place by upgrading the current dial up modem with the cable modem for increasing the network connectivity speed. The servers that are needed to be implemented in the current network is evaluated for management of the expansion and connect the third office with the current two offices of Booksforyou. Interconnecting each of the branches helps the organization to share resource and information between the different department and branches in the organization. The network design is created and the screenshot of configuration of the device are attached with the report. An IP addressing plan is created after the analysis of the business framework and number of department in each of the building that helps in configuring the network interface and troubleshooting the network configuration.

INTERNETWORKING TECHNOLOGIES
Introduction
The report is prepared for Booksforyou for the upgradation of the current information
system from the manual system. The main aim of the development of the new information system is
to gain competitive advantage in the current market and increase the efficiency of the current
business process. An evaluation is made on the current hardware device used by the network and
the scope of upgradation of the information system. The requirement of the client is evaluated for
identifying the hardware device that can be reused for the development of information and the data
system for the company. A network is designed for the organization that helps in identifying the
network device hardware and software that are needed for the development of the network
solution and the interconnection between the branches of the organization. The new hardware
devices that are needed to be purchased for the upgradation of the system is evaluated along with
the need of outsourcing and contracts for the implementation of the new system. The protocols and
technology that is used for configuration of the network device is also demonstrated in the report.
The network is developed such that a new store can be opened in a different location without
modifying the framework of the system.
Project Scope
The scope of the project for the development of new information and data system for Booksforyou
are given below:
To develop a new network framework for connecting the two offices located at a distance of
1000 meters
To create different subnet for the different floors of the building according to the different
departments of the organization.
To replace the old desktop workstation with laptop in office 1 and with new desktop in office
2.
Installation of two new servers for management of expansion of the current business and
create a database for recording the company information [6].
To install wireless access point in each of the floor for enabling the user to connect their
wireless device and enabling them to access internet from their wireless devices.
To use redundant network device for increasing the availability of the network and allow the
user to reach different parts of the network
To identify the cable that is needed for interconnecting the network device and allow
sufficient bandwidth for sending and receiving data packets in the network.
