1. Introduction and Background
This report depicts the development of planning for an office refurbishment. This project
elaborates the project goal and the way through the project goal is aligned with the
organization’s goal. In addition to this, the project justification, objectives, deliverables of the
project are also elaborated in this project. Not only this but also the total budget and time
estimated for the successful completion of the project are also elaborated in this report. Besides
this, the project assumptions and project constraints are also described in this report. It is
necessary for the project manager to consider all of these constraints to accomplish the project
within estimated budget and time.
Due to the growing number of employees the company is failing to provide proper
accommodation to the employees. Project outcome and production are completely dependent
upon the skill of the employees however due to non-preferable working environment they are
failing to meet their aim. It is expected that the new office renovation project will successfully
give the employees a very good working environment. In order to make the necessary changes in
the office different components are required to be considered by the project manager. Through
the utilization of accurate tools and methodological frameworks the office can be rebuilt
successfully and eventually.
2. Project Goal and how it aligns with the organization’s goals
The goals of the project are as follows:
 The goal of the project is to renovate the entire office by making changes in the
mechanical, electrical and plumbing work as well.

 While the renovation will take place in the office building the employees will
locate to another branch of the office. However, after successful completion of the
building the employees will relocate to their newly refurbished building.
 The office refurbishment contains civil works, interior and refurbishment of the
new office site. Not only the office but also the office premise will also be
refurbished.
 A car parking lot is also introduced in the building refurbishment plan. The
project goals are accurately aligns with the goal of the business organization.
3. Project Justification
In the history of business, office renovation requires the highest cost. For this renovation
a brand new site rater space is chosen by the civil contractor. The organization is willing to
change their business, service and production thus; they are also hiring new employees as well.
However, in the current office they are unable to provide proper accommodation to the newly
hired employees. In order to engage the employees to their job roles, the company should
provide accurate facilities and working environment. It can be said that, the issue of insufficient
storage capacity can be resolved if the office is renovated strategically. The location of the office
will not be changed but current structure wastes some of the areas. With the renovation the entire
area will be properly utilized.

8. Risks
During the development of office renovation project, it has been found that the project
manager and other project team members may face different construction level risks those are
needed to be resolved accordingly. The lists of risks are as follows:

Project budget and time: If the finance manager fails to develop proper project feasibility
study, then the project manager to be able to understand that whether the project is feasible or
not. Again, if the time is not allotted accurately then the overall budget will automatically
increase which is not at all beneficial for the office refurbishment project.
Equipment damage: The refurbishment cannot be done without the presence of proper
civil and mechanical equipments. The labors should consider different security concerns to avoid
the damage of the equipments.
Inexperienced architect: If the architect fails to develop the blueprint of the office
properly, then the entire plan will be a failure.
Poor materials: If the supplied raw materials are found to be cheap in quality then again
the office refurbishing project will be a failure.
9. Assumptions
After analyzing the details of the office refurbishment project it has been found that, the
all the resources from the project facility team are needed to be shared across the entire project.
Depending upon the availability of the blueprint of the newly renovated office the start date and
the finish date should be decided by the project manager. On the weekends the facility team and
the interior team are assumed to be available.
10. Constraints
