A number of evidence-based practices have shown the impact of health and safety
interventions to mitigate workplace violence and improve health and wellbeing of the
employees. Workplace violence that ranges from verbal threat or abuse to physical assault
can be one of the leading causes of fatal occupational injuries which not only affect the
employees but the reputation as well as productivity of the organization (Herrera-Sánchez,
León-Pérez & León-Rubio, 2017). In most of the violent actions, the employees are not
aware of the policies regarding workplace safety and actions against such crimes (Hanson,
Perrin, Moss, Laharnar & Glass, 2015). Hence, the risk of assaults or violence can be
prevented or minimized if the employees are well informed about the organizational policies
regarding violence (Phillips, 2016). Therefore, it should be an utmost priority to spread the
awareness among all the employees regarding the necessity of maintaining workplace safety
(Martinez, 2016). In this context, a training program can be helpful for the employees to gain
more knowledge about workplace violence, and policies against it.
Objectives
The objective of the training program will be introducing the topic workplace violence to all
the participant employees and to make them aware of the rules and regulations against the
culprit or the attackers. The training program will also be focused to inform the employees
about the ways of maintaining safety at the workplace, preventing all the harms and the
affects of violence on the impact of the organization will also be clearly demonstrated
utilizing several tools.

Design
The first and foremost task will be to identify different workplace violence events and then
the affects of the violence occurrence on the employees as well as on the organization will be
shown to the trainees. At the middle stage of the program, the rules and regulations against
the violation will be described along with legal evidences. Finally, all the employees will be
informed about the preventive strategies of violence at the workplace.
Implementation
In order to implement the training program, the newly recruited employees will be considered
as the participants initially. The training will go on for two semesters under the supervision of
senior mentors, expert in legal knowledge regarding workplace violence. Computers with
projectors will be used for the demonstration purpose. Leaflet will be distributed to all the
participants and a final evaluation program will be organized to ensure all the participants
obtained right information and knowledge from the training.
Measures of success
The potential for workplace violence can be identified at the initial stage. Also, workplace
violence will be reduced and anxiety of the employees can be mitigated. A safer workplace
environment will be the outcome.
Costs and ROI
The total cost of comprehensive training program is estimated to be $30,000. However, from
the reports, it has been analyzed that a single violence can cause more loss that the
investment and hence, the ROI is significantly distinctive as well as positive.
