ONLINE EDUCATION 2
Introduction
Online education defines a flexible instructional delivery system which includes several kinds
of knowledge that takes place through the Internet. Even though a huge number of benefits of
online education, there are so many challenges of online education, that will be faced by
potential students. Online education in many modes has been rising widely (Smith &
Symonds, 2018). The convergence of new technologies, Internet global adoption, and
workforce intensifying demand to trained periodically for developing a digital economy. The
online education will be on track to become mainstream in 2025. Nation level factors impact
the quality and quantity of online education. There are many factors included like a business,
local government, federal levels, national laws, and the digital divide. Online learning
consists of courses offered by institutes of postsecondary (Rivers, Rivers, and Hazell, 2015).
These institutes are 100 percent virtual that excludes massively open online courses. Online
education is offered on the internet. The following discussion will cover the trends and
challenges of online education. Alternatives and most viable solutions, for managers and a
feasible action plan and predicting consequences, have been discussed in the report.
Trends and challenges
Campus Distractions
When a student gets an education online, his or her homework area is his or her campus.
Whether a student at a restaurant hooked up to the open Wi-Fi (Marshall 2013), or in a spare
bedroom at home, this zone is now his or her campus. Here distraction is a big challenge to
that online education (Kennedy and Odell 2014).
Technological Reliance
Another challenge of online education is the grand reliance on electricity and technology. In
traditional educational institutions, the school or college delivers any industrial supplies
(Avella et al. 2016) and the fundamentals of essential attendance are met easily by just being
at college or school (Kennedy and Odell 2014).
Diminished Social Aspects
Social aspects with the online direction are other challenges of Online education. Within the
plans of a maximum degree course, there are many benefits given in social communication
with peers (Kennedy and Odell 2014). It is done in the classroom activity or “social lounges”
set outside of the digital classroom. All of these are good but still not similar to in-person
relations or physical (Avella et al. 2016).

Self-Discipline Essential
With most online degree courses, the controlling school will offer a list of requirements for
involvement in the course (Avella et al. 2016), such as requirements in computer devices,
general internet savvy and reliable internet connection, motivation and self-discipline
(Vanevenhoven 2013).
Conflicts in Learning Style
Some students have a challenging time applying their own education style to the
environments of the online classroom (Vanevenhoven 2013). Most students have spent their
learning time in a physical classroom. As an outcome, skill sets and education methods tend
to progress as an accompaniment to this physical educational environment (Marshall 2013).
Challenges in different nations
Regular growth of the online education programs especially in the USA for business
education looks to be on the prospect in the upcoming five years. The students that look at
least one online class take a course on campus and took a campus course not physically
present in the U.S. that enrolled in U.S. online degree program were 1 % of all learners taking
online classes. It presents that online programs and attracting students to live far from the
university. Education institution faces a variety of instructor, institutional, and student-related
obstacles for the successful maintenance, implementation, and online programs growth.
Online education challenges in Asia and the middle east is low internet diffusion, low public
reverence for online learning, & lack of repositories in online education in Arabic languages.
Students of Africa access online education on the internet and affected by the harmful impact
like smartphone addiction. There are also many challenges in developing nations regarding
education as not have enough sources regarding internet access. Poor nations like Liberia,
The central African republic, Burundi, Uganda are facing the issue of online education due to
inequality, an inefficient network of education, lack of democratization, insufficient funds,
and economic recession. Nigeria has referred that it has the largest number of out of online
education in the world (Rueckert, 2019).
Impact of issues and challenges
The web-based entrepreneur focuses on high skills business like accounting and law. This is
very hard to become familiar with the modern landscape of online education. The online
education advent has been very important for industries and others as open many possibilities

of teaching. The new investment is underutilized in a method that mimics an ancient
procedure in place of innovating new procedures that can be more attractive for students in
online education (Holder, 2013).

lecture of learning are inadequate to challenge the students to engage and experiment in
informal education. This can be found in the classroom model in non-traditional like flipped
classrooms that allowed for a blending of informal and formal education (Daniel, 2015).
Personalized learning failure
There is a gape in the vision to deliver personalized, differentiated instruction and available
technologies to generate possibilities. Assessment is the most important practice and change
in online education. This generated a gap in the assessment and demands of new skills in
education.

and technology)

become disengaged and feel isolated as not interact with peers. Internet in online education is
the most important technology in modern times that helps in daily life and professional lives.

the knowledge of many subjects. The Internet has a very important role in education. In the

consists of a wealth of knowledge that can be searched 24*7. The internet has brought

generate high-level motivation. This solves the issue of writing skills and gives extra time to
check errors. Time management in online learning support to overcome the challenges and
