research was to find out the positive and negative impact on the behavior and mental health of

environment, physical health of the person, mental health of the person, and financial loss. The
feeling of negligence and ignorance creates the distracted feeling in the family members. The
aggressive behavior shown in the family creates a negative image in the family members. The
priority given to the playing computer games had an adverse effect on the healthy family
environment.
The ignorance to friends and social relationship will affect their relationship with the external
environment. They remain confined to the four walls of their room. No communication with the
internal and external members creates feeling of loneliness and depression in them. The
performance at the work place and academic conduct is adversely affected due to the longs hours
given to the playing computer games. The improper schedule and no physical activities will

directly affect the physical health of the person. The excessive use and long hours of sitting with
the computer games creates the aggressive behavior and depression in the addicted person.

The source of data collection was through the online materials and in most cases the articles in
relation to the topic of study. This topic has been explained more in the education sector as much
is dealing with the students. In this concept, also interacting with students with such experience
of video games helped one to make an informed decision on the negative and positive impacts
caused by online video games on the mental health of the adolescents.
Recommendations
It is recommended to take measures for minimizing the negative impact of the video games on
the personality development of the person. The online video games and social media platform
should be used for managing communication with the external parties to develop strong bonding
with the people who are geographically dispersed and adopting good learning experience to
resolve real life complexities by providing effective alternatives which they have learnt from
playing computer games. The restriction should be implied on the person to give long sitting in
playing computer games.
The limited use of the online video games and computer networks helps in minimizing the
financial loss. The mental and physical health of the person will not be affected due to the
limited playing on the computer games. The healthy environment can be created by developing
good learning and gaining knowledge. The concentration level of the person can be improved by
dedicating time to the online video games. The periodic arrangement of the counselling session

helps in identifying and giving knowledge to the person about the positive and negative impact
of the computer games on the mental and physical health of the person.
