1. Background of the study
Education is one of the major factor for the sustainable development and the importance
of the education, especially in the developing countries is going on increasing due to the
progressing pressure for catching up with the developed world regarding the global
competitiveness. The information and communication technologies provide new opportunities
for the education and the training purposes. The use of Information and Communication
technology has enhanced the e –learning and the teaching process by opening opportunities for
new ways of doing things that is by developing creativity in the-learning process. Thus, the use
of the Information and Communication technology can support the development of the public
policy for bringing the educational changes, which promotes creative and the innovative-learning
environment. The application of the teaching and learning methods promotes the deep, the
active-learning process, which promotes deep, and the active and learning creativity in learners,
that reflects the emphasis of the educational system of the present age.
e –learning and the online-learning is the major learning environments in the information
era. The efforts and the experiences related to this type of learning is given due attention around
the world. Most of the universities around the world are extensively using this type of learning
technology. This online-learning also benefits the self-regulation with the self-directed e-learning
on the student’s achievement in the creative field. The e -learning consist of the conventional
trainings like the courses, ad-hoc training, selected learning objects and the formalization
through the community formation and the document collections that can be achieved through the
social software. The advantages of the e -learning process are that it develops the global
connections among the peoples as it provides the vast and the fast access to the e -learning
process. This Online-learning also bring convergence of the different mediums, provides

flexibility for the learners and make quick creation, the up gradation and the revision of the
course materials. This also provides the quick access to the supporting materials through the
hyperlinks and provides the ability to serve the large numbers of the students at the low cost,
distribution of the quality material of the online classes.
This study analyses the student’s satisfaction of the current pedagogical practices at the
global Universities and investigates the use of the technology in these field. This also establishes
the form of the e -learning for the University Students. The research study will determine the
viability of implementing the e -learning activities in the University and this study recommends
the technology-based educations for the tertiary learning and the teaching process.
1.1 Research aim
The aim of this study is to produce the details of the initiative that has been designed to
provide the early and the formative assessment opportunities of the students that allow the
continuous monitoring and the orientation of the e-learning process. Apart from this the research
will also determine the benefits and the different impacts of online-learning on the students.

2. Literature review
2.1 Concept of online learning
According to De Oliveira Neto, Huang and de AzevedoMelli (2015), the online education
system is considered as the database-backed web services that are used for the teaching and the-
learning purposes. This online education helps to form the online communities of the people and
it provides the appropriate tools for the online communities to perform their roles of professors,
students, teaching assistants, course administrators and class secretaries. Online learning is the
education, that is carried out through the internet, and is considered as a part of distance learning,
there are several types of similar programs like the correspondence courses, tele-courses, CD-
ROM courses, online-learning and mobile learning. There are different online-learning systems
and methods that allow courses to be delivered by the implementations of the-learning
management systems. The use of the right tools will help in the various processes can be
automated in the like the marking of tests and the creating of the engaging content. Online
learning also provides the learners with the ability to fit around in the lifestyles and effectively
allowing the busiest persons in further planning their careers and gaining the new qualifications.

2.2 Factors of online learning
Hung (2016) stated that for ensuring success of students in the online learning, the
students must follow these factors:
 Using the system approach for designing courses: This study includes the instructional
designers’ works with the faculty, programmers and the media developers for developing
the online courses. This approach recognizes the differences between the online and the
face-to-face instructions and also allows the instructors to focus on the subject matter and
the student engagement.
 Providing professional development: The students need to follow the online instruction,
which requires the distinct strategies. For guiding the online education, the instructors
need to develop the student engagement and developing the appropriate norms without
the auditory and the visual clues. However, the constant changes in the technology and
the isolated natures of the online education makes the professional development and the
mentorship are particularly significant.
 Setting student expectations: The author stated that there lies misconception in the fact
that the online courses are easy. As the actual scenario is that, the student in the online
courses often struggles with the autonomy, digital literacy and the time management need
to succeed. The successful online programs use the orientation courses for setting
expectations and clarifying between the online and the face-to-face education.
2.3 Benefits of online-learning
As mentioned by the Hamid et al. (2015), the online-learning provides the following
benefits for the students to develop their effective career that are:

The students could be able to learn whatever they want to learn that is the online
education allows the student to make themselves in the program that contains their interested
courses. The variety of the online programs and the courses has the huge advantage of this type

The online-learning provides the comfortable zones for the students as the students will
not be focused to attend the classes by sitting in the uncomfortable chairs. As all the lectures and
the other required learning materials are provided to the student through the internet and they
does not need to hamper their time for the collection of the lecture notes and other learning
materials related to their courses.
The author also stated that the online-learning courses looks great on the resumes of the
students and provides self-paced learning’s for the students. The online learning also provide the
courses trainings and materials in the lower cost and it is also totally worth the effort of enrolling
themselves in the online education courses.
2.4 Challenges faced by students in online learning
According to the Allen and Seaman (2015), The challenges faced by the students in the
online-learning is that the student have problem after taking the online courses, when they enrol
themselves in the university, they usually faces struggle in adopting themselves with the
traditional classroom settings. The online learning sometimes are not able to gain the trust and
sometimes, it is also not given any respect what they deserves, thus the students undergoing the
online education suffers from proving the authenticity of their educational career. Though the
online education provides platform for the student throughout the globe to learn their interesting
courses but for accessing the online education most often students need to have outdated
hardware and software.

3 Methodology
3.1 Overview
This study introduces the various methodological tools, which can be used for conducting
and completing the research work carefully. This study provides the research methodologies in
an elaborate manner by highlighting the principle characteristics of the research methodology.
Along with this, the researcher also defines the reasons for electing the definite research method
that is by justifying the application (Weber 2017). The complete research work is dependent on
the use of the proper research methodologies.
This study will be based on the research ethics, which are need to be followed for the
completion of the successful research work. The key words that have been used in the review
and will be a main part of the dissertation are e –learning, online and mobile learning, CD-ROM
courses on education. The research will be taking the help of a number of different articles that
are related to the following topic. The citation of the previous research journals and articles apart
from the conduction of the survey will provide a strong base to the topic and will help to make it
compact in nature. An estimated amount of 30 different articles will be taken to study the
research topic more thoroughly.
3.2 Research outline
The proper use of the research methodologies would lead to the completion of the
successful research work. This research study is based on the research work followed by the
mentioned research objectives, hypothesis and in this study the researcher have used the
positivism philosophy, deductive approach, descriptive research design. This study also follows
the use of the primary data collection techniques in order to gather the data for the research
strategy (Kaplan 2017). The researcher has also rationalized the use of the proper selected

research methodology for completing the work by following the research methods of the
research ethics and the accessibility problems while carrying the research work.
3.3 Research approach
The applications of the proper research approach allows the researcher for validating the
research hypothesis. The applications of both the inductive and the deductive approach are need
to be used for validating hypothesis. The concepts of the inductive approach towards the
evolving of the new theories and the concepts as per the obtained observations and the collected
data. Thus, the data collected are need to be continued by the new theories developments and the
concepts (Lewis 2015). But the use of the deductive approach will allow the researcher to
validate the research hypothesis as per the literature review and the data collected, the researcher
will be able to align the observations made and the data collected with the existing theories and
concepts.

The use of the deductive research approach is the best possible way to gain the
appropriate and best method for this particular research. The deductive research approach also
goes well with the positivism philosophy that will be used for the particular research. The
deductive research approach is essential as because it uses the different types of previously
existing theories and concepts to study the topic.
3.4 Research design
The using up of the research strategy provides the opportunity for the researchers for
answering the research questions which have been developed based on the research aims and the
objectives. The research designs are mainly based on the three types that is the descriptive,

The mostly apllied research strategies in carrying out the research work are the action
research, interview and the case study. The case study research strategy have been widely used
as it provides the opportunity for the researchers, which refers to the secondary information that
helps to lift up the quality of the work (Quinlan et al. 2019). The application of the case study
research involves the using up of the different facts, figures and makes it possible to analyze
those data. Whereas the action research strategy provides the opportunity of the researcher of
identifying and finding issues in the research (Humphries 2017). The researcher will be able to
provide the recommendations for mitigating the issues in the terms of the research topics. The
interview research strategy involves the researcher to communicate with the respondents directly
and the researcher also need to know the research aim and objectives.

The data analysis can be done by both qualitative and the quantative techniques. The
qualitative data analysis techniques involves the researcher to focus on the data quality with the
use of the Information and Communication Technology by the analyzing of the transcript. The
quantative data analysis techniques involves the researcher to emphasize on the quantity of the
data collected (Alvesson and Sköldberg 2017). The data collected are need to be identified by the
proper data analysis techniques and it is need to be analyzed by considering the numerical values
that are presented by the using up of the bar, graphs, charts and other. The application of the
scientific and the statistical approach also helps in enhancing the data analysis by ensuring the
accuracy of the data. It is also important to considering the theoritical concepts, for identifying
the responses provided by the respondents in the other method of the data analyzing (Wildemuth
2016). The research articles will be analyzed through the use of the different data from both
private research articles as well as different researches that were funded by the government.
