Abstracts
The whole of the report will majorly focus towards the role of student and teacher for
making student clear about any of the topic. The online class can be made interesting if proper
strategies are used by the teacher and more focus can be given to the student’s life by providing
them the proper recommendations. Mainly students have been taking their online classes with the
help of Zoom and other online application platform where major role is to be played by teacher
for attaining better result.

INTRODUCTION
Learning is one of the most important criteria for any of the person but it initially begins
from the student’s life where they get higher opportunity to learn new things on a daily basis. It
is necessary to understand that student must attain their classes for effective learning so that
better understanding opportunity can be developed. Discussing it in detail about current scenario,
COVID-19 have created some serious problem due to which students are not getting proper
environment to learn new things. Looking at this particular aspect, some of the strategies will be
explained in the file which will allow to bring improvement to the learning ability. Also, it will
be focused that how teacher can help students to understand their complete lecture with more
focus.

1 Students attend regular lectures on Zoom and need to learn a lot of new information. Evaluate
some strategies that students can use to improve their listening ability.
In present scenario, whole world is suffering because of COVID-19 and in this phase,
students have been suffering equally and they are unable to find the accurate way through which
they can effectively learn new things. Still there are number of schools, universities which are
trying to provide education to children with the help of online platform like Zoom, Google Duo
and many more. It is necessary for the student to focus more towards their online classes as it is
the only method in current scenario through which they can attain sessions.
The same concept is being followed by number of nations to provide education with the
help of online platform. But, in whole of this procedure student have been suffering because they
are not good at listening the things for long time. In order to bring improvement, some of the
strategies has been explained below which might be effective for the student through which they
can easily improve their listening ability.
Connecting with the topic: There are most of the student in present scenario where they
are unable to connect with the topic which is being explained within the class. As of students
need to take online classes, they are needed to focus much and more towards the topic and must
connect with the topic which are being tough through online classes (Mustari and Rostina, 2020).
If student will be able to do so then they will find some of the question where doubt may arise. In

addition, whenever any of the doubt arises for the relevant subject matter, the classes start to
become interesting.
Preparing Notes: Always a good listener prepares the notes so that future reference can
be taken whenever it is necessary. So, it is necessary for any of the student to understand that
whenever they try to learn something new through online classes, students must be able to use
prepare notes. This habit can allow the student to focus more on listing ability as slight mistakes
can create problem for them in preparing the notes as per their requirements.
Mixing different Activity: It is also one of the effective ways which can be used by
students for the purpose of improving their listening activity. It is said that whenever any of the
student try to learn something, they can work on some of the extra curriculum activity which can
keep their mind fresh and activity (Zainuddin and et. al., 2019). This can certainly allow the
students to improve their listening ability.
Working as a project on any specific Topic: Here, students can form the team which
will work for the purpose of finding out the facts and figure on any of the specified topic. This
process can certainly benefit the student because they will have certainly knowledge about the
topic which they are going to listen through online Zoom classes. It means that if projects are
prepared by the students on the basis of team work, they can improve their listening ability as
better interaction process can be developed within the online sessions.
Don’t interrupt: Students themselves are the reason that they are not able to develop the
healthy environment of listening. It is necessary to understand for the students that whenever any
of topic is being tough, students must not interrupt in between the discussion (Manurung, 2020).
Whenever any of this activity is being performed all of the student has to face the problem as
their mind get divert. So, it is crucial that students must focus not to make any those question
which are not relevant to the topic.
All of these strategies are understood as the most favourable strategies which can be used
by the student through which they can easily enhance their listening ability. Here, they can also
work for the improvement by taking the help of teachers who always plays the crucial role in
guiding their students.

2 How can teachers help students understand their lectures? Make some recommendations.
Teachers are the one who always plays the supportive role for the student because they
always guide them that how any of the work should be done. It means that teacher can easily
support their students to uplift the listening skills which is quite crucial with the online classes
like Zoom, Google Duo and many more. Some of the recommendation has been made below
which can allow to understand that how any of the teacher can help student to understand their
lectures.
 Using Examples: It is recommended to the teachers that they must be able to use real life
example which can be helpful for the students to understand the topic in an effective
manner. Whenever teacher uses the example, student can connect the real-life scenario
with the topic and it is one of the effective ways through which understanding regarding
the topic can be improved (Kirana, 2016).
 Giving Everyone the Opportunity to Explain: There are number of situation where
teacher do not try to involve some of the students in the topic which they are explaining
in the class. Whenever any of this situation arises, students has to suffer from lots of
problem because they do not gets the opportunity to understand the topic in detail. It
means that if fair opportunity is given to each of the students then there is higher
probability that students can understand the topic in effective manner.
 Use of Audio and Visual: The modern world is full of technology and information
which means that just listening to teacher will not be effective. It determines that teachers
should focus upon audio and visual effects related to the topic so that they can easily
understand the topic. These types of strategy always keep the interest of student which is
quite necessary for their betterment.
 Obtaining regular Feedback: Here, it is recommended to the teacher that they can ask
about the problem that are being faced by the student to understand about the specified
topic. If teacher is able to do so then they can easily determine the way through which
they can bring improvement to the studying pattern (Aruan, Sari and Harahap, 2020).
Feedback will also allow the teachers to find out the exact point where they have been
facing the issue to understand the topic.

These are some of the recommended points where teacher can focus the most for bringing the
improvement in students so that they can effectively learn any of the topic. There will be higher
possibility with the help of this points for student to understand the topic in detail. Overall, both
teacher and students are benefits with the above mentioned recommendations.
CONCLUSION
From the above discussion, it is clearly understandable that there are number of difficult
situations which is to be faced by the people but finding out the best solution is important. It
means that although online classes are being conducted for students but changes can be made to
the pattern of making them understand so that they will not suffer from the problem lack of
listening ability. Teacher can always play the supportive role in whole of this process because
they are the one who knows their student very well and according to the requirement, they can
plan for bringing best out of them.
