Part A- Can online learning replaces traditional universities?
Online learning is changing the way children interact with the courses. Online learning
typically is referred to the education system that focuses on using internet as a resource. With the
help of online learning it has been observed that the way interaction takes place can be enhanced.
With the use of online learning tools offers a wide range of tools towards the students and
educators so that it becomes easy to access the resources that were not available due to different

role of traditional learning is huge and thus it becomes very difficult to remove the traditional
learning process. Online learning has the potential to change the way education are provided at
present situation. However there is a need to ensure that proper support is provided for
improving the way lessons are taught among the students.
The main reason behind stating that online learning process is a better way of gaining
knowledge is due to the high flexibility that is offered. Moreover the unnecessary costs of the
traditional universities can also be reduced effectively. With the help of online learning process it
becomes easy to ensure that the travelling time and costs are also saved by the student. Students
from different geographical location can achieve knowledge on their desired courses without too
much of expenses. Education with the help of online learning will become effective.
On the other hand Traditional universities are tested ones. This offers an overall
development of the student and ensures that the students are capable of socializing. This helps in
getting a broader outlook over the education. Online education mainly focuses on just teaching
the exact concepts and does not focuses on providing any broad aspects towards the students.

Thus it can be stated that with the help of traditional learning method it becomes easy to offer
overall development of the students.
However after analyzing the benefits that are offered with traditional learning it can be
stated that the main concern is to ensure that every student is capable of getting the right
information that is needed for their future carrier enhancement. With a proper online learning
course it becomes easy to manage the courses and is considered more feasible than other learning
approaches. The time needed for attending classes at different universities is very high. Thus
online learning helps in ensuring that the time and cost needed are managed effectively for
providing a better feasible study structure towards the students.
With the use of traditional learning it becomes easy to teach time management that is
very much crucial for the students. After the university courses are completed the student needs
to enter the professional world. Traditional education tends to provide a better medium for
interacting with the educators. Traditional classes are mainly suitable for the children in their
primary and middle school. Once they complete their courses it becomes essential to gain better
perspective on different aspects. Traditional learning helps in improving the physical fitness and
also creates better alertness. Classroom learning is considered most helpful for student as this
helps in teaching better manners. This also ensures that the students are capable of evaluating
theirs strengths and weakness for the purpose of making their career options much wider.
Traditional learning is considered as an important way of interacting with the students as this
helps in motivating the students for achieving higher marks.
Online learning needs to be incorporated properly so that it becomes easy to manage the
performance. With the help of proper analysis it becomes easy to manage the way studies are

offered towards the students. Online learning will reduce the overall expenses that are spent over
managing the courses.
The regular learning and teaching process has been entirely changed after the
implementation of internet services. Infact the online learning model is also modified due to the
internet association. These days most of the people are considering traditional classrooms as a
synonymous of education receiving process. Professional education offers insights into new
industry by providing foundational knowledge as well as niche skills that are accessible by
online learning process only. In order to learn new skills and knowledge online leaning is defined
as one of the most effective approach.
In this new era of technology more than 75% of professionals do prefer online learning
training approach. Apart from that, 68% professionals are showing their trust on online learning
platforms. The online learning program is defined as an influencer these days. Though, due to
lack of experiences the users are also facing major issues. Traditional universities cannot directly
replace the traditional learning program. Online learning platform is a place used to gain as well
as share knowledge to empower people and to give better learning and teaching opportunities at
the same time.
It identifies many usable resources to both the educators and students regardless of their
location and status. Users can even maintain balance between part time job and full time job.
Though, it has become an education equalizer but cannot replace the entire traditional university.
Technology is improving but it is not flawless or error free. The traditional universities have a
time specification which means educators, learners and teachers are allowed to attain the classes
for particular time span. In case of distance learning online learning process plays important role.

It comes with convenience with high flexibility and accessibilities. Educators and learners need
not to attain classes on time for online learning. This discussion forum provides any time and
from anywhere accessibility opportunities. The cost for online learning is lesser than traditional
university courses or offline classes.
Experts are appointed for such online education providers who are mostly dedicated to
make sure the quality, discipline and quality of the online education program. The online
learning programs are upgraded in a regular basis. After considering the constant academic

periodically. The online learning program involves lack of determination, lower rate of retention

than traditional university learning programs. The synchronous learning is effective for the
distance learning. On the other hand, asynchronous learning gives flexibility to the users work as
per their choice of time. In the college E-learning environment and corporate society this type of
communication approach is used. The process needs self confidence, dedication and basic
computing skills and knowledge. The employees involved in this process might not be
accustomed for using the computer. The success and failure of online learning process is

dependent on the integral roles played by program associates, learners and teachers. The users
and instructors need to know their limitations. In this process teachers are responsible to take
initiatives while conducting discussions along with the students. However, in this approach
ability of teachers and students should never be compromised.
A discussion analyzed in this paper is basically a debate rather argument where one
student feels that Online learning can completely omit the process of traditional university
whereas; other student feels that traditional university learning concept cannot be directly
replaced with online learning.
It is concluded that, students and learners cannot gain required knowledge and skills from
online learning program that can be achieved from offline traditional university courses and
classes. Online learning does not give opportunities to learn time management and societal
appearance. Students never come to know how to socially and face to face conduct interactions
with others. They would also never know how to manage time. Infact the daily lifestyle and
discipline also gets interrupted if offline learning replaces the entire online learning.
Online learning gives excessive flexibility to the learners and teachers where they can
select their desired time for learning and teachers. University or classroom tradition gives helps
the users remain competitive. In this program teachers and students never interact directly as a
result they might not learn how to develop social appearances and conduct face to face
connection. Students coming from different geographical location can access these online
learning programs by saving the travel cost and time.
Traditional universities are always tested one time before execution. It is mainly defined
as an overall student and teacher’s grooming platform. For student’s personality development

traditional university learning plays essential roles. For career growth and student development
traditional universities are always preferred than any other. E-learning can be utilized as a part of
education but cannot completely replace the entire traditional Universities. A social classroom
can improve the social presence or appearance of students and help them learn basic time and
communication management.
Students will come to know about how to improve behavior towards the teachers.
Traditional classroom setup is always beneficial than the online learning process. In other words,
the attitude of students gets improved. Traditional learning lack many of technical knowledge
and necessary skills that a student and teacher need to possess. It is concluded though the trends
of online education is spreading rapidly but in coming 5 to 10 years it cannot completely replace
the traditional university learning concept. For professional skill and knowledge development
traditional university learning program are still better over online learning.
Online learning is form of teaching or training over internet. Online learning is
implemented widely by corporate trainers as well as academic teachers alike for purposes of
instruction for cost effectiveness and convenience. However, online learning doesnot have way
to ensure that students or learners are leaning material really. It would not be clear if the students
are actually learning properly from online learning. Online learning doesn’t accommodate also
different styles of learning of students. Not every student is self-determined and self-motivated in
handling the online courses.
The students learn from knowledge of others as shared by them as well as independently.
If the students are unfocussed and willing in pushing themselves for doing work, they would be

unable in succeeding in online course. A teacher is required by few students in front, explaining
the materials of the course to them, monitoring their work and answering to their doubts. In order
for learning, such kind of students requires traditional classroom’s learning environment which
online learning could not provide.
Several instructors are not trained properly for facilitating online learning. Those
instructors lack several necessary skills like technical knowledge, time and ability in moving
traditional content. Online learning is totally time consuming to both student and teacher.
Instructor might waste ample time in communicating online with students individually. Students
who select online learning, are provided more work when compared with the students in the
traditional classroom, resulting from lack of insight of instructor into how occupied student is in
work. Instructors don’t realize that they would have much more work which should be checked
in end. There are several issues of online learning as well as several reasons to not eliminate
completely traditional classroom. Several students do not feel comfortable with online learning.
Many students prefer traditional environment for learning as how they used to learn
before. It is complaint of many students that the teachers in online learning are not teaching
properly to them as well as leaving them in learning on own. Many students feel that online
learning is not ideal platform for them to learn. They think this is not helping them in learning
what was required to them. They are not able in grasping clear understanding of topics. Many
students were not happy with online learning procedure. Several students do not seem in gaining
same knowledge by using online learning as they could have by using method of traditional
learning. Several students were uncomfortable with online learning.

Different learning styles are there for different students and they do not seem to be totally
comfortable with procedure of online learning as online learning would not have different
teaching techniques for different students. Personal attitude of students for the teacher might
have influenced the opinions and comments. Negative attitude of theme would not allow in
having open mind with respect to two different learning styles. Online learning is helpful for the
students, however students are not totally comfortable with online learning as they have different
learning styles.

Discussion on ADDIE model
ADDIE model is referred to the generic process that is used mainly by the instruction
designers and training developers. ADDIE model was developed in the year 1975 at Florida state
university. The primary objective behind designing this approach was that United States military
faced issues with providing training towards large set of people. The military needed to use
proper technologies so that it becomes easy to train the large set of people (Andersson &
Liljegren, 2017). It has been observed that ADDIE model provides a huge support towards
designing the instruction. This also ensures that a proper way of analyzing, designing,
developing, implementing and evaluating a training program can be carried out. It is important to
ensure that each phase is carried out effectively with proper iteration. The model designed gives
a streamlined and ensures that the approach is focused. The main benefit that is offered with this
approach is that it provides feedback after each phase so that it becomes easy to manage the
improvement process (Budoya, Kissaka & Mtebe, 2019). The teaching and instruction process
can be improved with the help of ADDIE process. There is a need to understand the different

phases that are associated with the ADDIE model. This ensures that the training process
developed is capable of attracting the intended users. The key phases that are associated with the
ADDIE model are analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate.
The main reason that was behind using ADDIE process instructional design model was to
maximize the effectiveness and efficiency that is offered towards the learner. The key advantages
that are offered with the help use of ADDIE model is that it allows a better cost effective
approach and ensures that the time needed for organizing the contents are reduced to a great
extent (Cheung, 2016). This also helps in promoting effective learning process. Thus it can be
stated that a systematic approach can be obtained with the use of proper ADDIE model. The
importance of each phase is described below:
Analysis
The analysis process is the first phase that is focused entirely on developing a proper
content or training strategy for the intended users. However before designing any content it
becomes essential to analyze the current situation. Analyzing the environment in which the
performance is to carry out for the purpose of understanding the key objective. This also ensures
that proper performance is carried out for understanding the requirements (Drljača et al., 2017).
This will ensure that the main concern behind developing the strategy is understood well. In
order to understand the current situation it becomes essential to understand the ultimate goal.
This phase involves a lot of analysis and also focuses on clarifying the instructional problems
properly. With a better knowledge it becomes easy to understand the learning environment. For
evaluating the process it becomes essential to identify the intended audience and their
characteristics. The behavioral outcome also needs to be identified at the early stage so that it
becomes easy to manage the performance. The learning constraint needs to be identified along

with the estimated tine period within which the training is expected to get completed. The main
aim behind designing a training plan is to ensure that the situation has been improved with the
help of proper business goals.
Design
The main objective of the design process is to achieve the goals that are needed for
correcting the performance. After the training plan is executed properly than it becomes essential
to ensure that proper design is being developed for managing the practical decisions. This
typically involves preparing a proper strategy, selecting an appropriate delivery method,
structuring the plan, designing the duration, assessment checking and maintaining a proper
feedback (Gusmida & Islami, 2017). Next is to ensure that the idea is being included within the
storyboard a prototype. The blue print is created for the purpose of providing easy
communication with the stakeholders regarding the training process. Before developing it is
important to test the prototype model so that it becomes easy to carry out the performance.
Development
The develop stage aims at discovering the process that will help in assisting the products
for becoming a good performer. This stage focuses on creating the course properly. With the
help of storyboards it becomes easy to develop the guide. There is a need to design the element
of every course properly so that it becomes easy to design the project. The core contents for the
training are decided at the early stage itself. This phase mainly involves adding proper graphics
and choosing appropriate colors for engaging the readers (Khalil & Elkhider, 2016). There is a
