Emilee-Mae Feely, a piano teacher in Waterloo plans to offer Piano lessons through an online
Application for providing piano tuitions at home. Her designed web-based application would let
one book a piano tutor who would provide piano lessons at home. She wishes to pursue her
dream, quitting her music education for she says that she likes to do what nobody else wants.
Emilee has been offering piano lessons herself for three years when she came up with the idea of
providing this smart way of imparting piano lessons by way of booking suitable piano tutors with
the help of her designed online Application. She calls it an ‘Uber for music lesson’. Although she
herself is an established piano teacher, yet she wants to pursue her ambition of exploring this
new avenue. Emilee is currently on her quest to find a better means to track piano lesson
homework of the students. She claims that her Application would make use of the technology for
motivating the students who tends to lose their drive and would help them to self-analyse, self-
realize and self-assess themselves. The Application promises to store the practice sessions of the
students for a week, along with their homework assignments. Rachel Bartholomew, a fellow
entrepreneur praised Emilee’s initiative and commented that she is doing a great job. She plans
to redesign people’s perspective on the traditional way of learning music.

Emilee says, “I'm just one of those people that likes to do something that nobody else wants to
do”. She motivates the prospective students by quoting that the more mindful ones is regarding
what they are doing, the better they will be at doing it.
Emilee wishes to visit India for learning newer and more developed means of customizing the
piano teaching Application, which would help her connect to interested students and good
teachers. When asked about her plan to visit India, Emilee says that she wishes to take the help
of the government programs, which is the Canada-India Acceleration Program that supports
women entrepreneurs for growing their startup (Rao & Tapp, 2015). Justin Trudeau, the Prime
Minister of Canada, boosted the program as a trade mission for which Emilee competed for an
opportunity to be a part of it while learning entrepreneurial skills at Sheridan College. She
wishes to revamp the traditional way of learning music by giving it a smart and technological
approach. To pursue her ambition, she worked on her eating disorder and trying to live a
disciplined life. She believes the key to success is regular practicing and polishing one’s piano
skills, under an experienced guide which she strives to provide to the interested students, through
her designed web Application.
