1. Part One: Project Background
1.1 Project Name / Team / Description
Development of online sales management system is name set for the project.
The project team will include four main members who will have different roles in the
project. The team members will have to be active in the project, exchange information among
them and also ensure the project is moving in the right direction.
In this project, Globex requires an online sales management system (OSMS) for
replacing the current system that is operated manually. The proposed OSMS will be completely
automated and will have a wide range of features like order backlog details, delivery information
updates (automated), monthly updates in sales data and others.
1.2 Team Charter
The team for the project will consist of four members each of which will have specific
duties in the project. The entire project will have four main work requirements – project
management, system development, system testing and project documentation. The duties will be
assigned to the team members as per their skills, knowledge and competency.
1.2.1 Skills and Knowledge Inventory
The four team members will need to have specific knowledge as well as skills and
competency in order to work in the project. The skill and knowledge requirements of the team
members in the project are as follows.

Project Manager–The team member should have management skills including
management of work in the project as well as the duties of other team members.
System Developer – The person chosen for this particular role in the project needs to have
sound technical knowledge and skills to develop an information system based on specifications

sound technical knowledge and skills to test an information system developed as per
specifications provided.
Content Writer – The team member should have skills to develop project report based on
the project progress updates.

In addition to the duties to be performed, the team members also need to communicate
with each other throughout the course of the project. This is to ensure a continuous flow of
information between team members and also for the convenience of the project manager to keep
track of the project.
1.4 Team Rules and Expectations
In addition to the work duties assigned to the team members, there are also certain rules
and expectations that the team members must understand and fulfil. First, the team members
must be able to work in team as one unit and there should be no internal conflict among the team
members. All team members must show professional behaviour within the team and any issues
faced must be reported to the project manager immediately.

2. Part Two: Learning Cycles
During the course of the project, at the end of each week, there will be a team meeting
that will be attended by all the team members. In these meetings, there will be two central roles:
the scribe and the organiser. The organiser will arrange and organise the meeting and the scribe
will document all the ideas discussed in the meeting. Every week, the roles will be rotated such
that all the team members get the chance to become organiser or scribe.

4. Part Four: Reflection
4.1 Brief Reflection
In this subject, I was required to gather experience needed for the role of a typical project
manager. This entire module is primary focussed on project management and offered the
students to gather skills and knowledge for a project manager. I, being a student working in the
module, gathered a lot of practical knowledge. Firstly, I got the exposure to various experienced
project managers and project management faculty members who helped to considerably in
completing my research and planning works in this module. Second, we were provided with
significant amount of funding on education purposes for the project and I utilised the funds for
conducting detailed research and activities that were within my scope of work. Thirdly, I got
some very skilful and resourceful team mates who helped me throughout the course of the
project whenever I faced any issue. At the same time, I also helped them whenever they faced
any challenges during the project and build up an effective team capable of handling any
challenges that might be faced during the project.
In addition to the project work and team coordination, I also gathered some personal
skills and knowledge that will help me significantly in my future professional life. The first
lesson I learned is perseverance, an important attribute that allowed me to stick to my work while
facing a challenge so as to mitigate the challenge with own capability. Moreover, this attribute
helped me to keep calm while facing an issue so that the issue can be solved. This attribute will
be beneficial for me and will help me in almost any field I will be working on in the near future.
I also learned the technique to apply different approaches to a problem so that the best solution
can be selected to solve the problem. The best technique refers to the mitigation measure that is
cost effective, easy to implement and does not have any negative impact on the project.
