Introduction
Online classroom is the principle of cognitive science for effectively learning with the
help of electronic devices (Salmon, 2013). The following report provides a brief discussion
on the differences between online classroom and face-to-face one.
Differences between Online Classroom and Face-to-face Classroom
The most significant differences in classroom experience between online and face-to-
face classrooms are as follows:
i) Globalization: Online classrooms bridge the gap of cultural diversification and
globalization. However, this feature is absent in face-to-face classrooms.
ii) Flexibility: Online classrooms provide flexibility to its students as it allows them
for reviewing and completing the assignments within spare time.
iii) Integration with ICT: The integration with ICT helps the students to learn about
the technology (Zhan & Mei, 2013).
iv) Time Saving: The third difference between these two is saving of time. The
students do not have to come down to school or college in online classroom for attending the
classes.
v) Interaction with Students: Another important difference between face-to-face and
online classrooms is interaction with students (Salmon, 2013). This advantage is absent in
online classroom, therefore, often students face problem while clearing the doubts.
vi) Feedbacks: The feedback in online classroom is much slower than face-to-face
feedbacks.

vii) Writing Skills: The writing skills in online classroom are paramount (Zhan &
Mei, 2013). However, this is not true for face-to-face classroom.

The best example of online learning platform is Udemy.com. A marketplace or
platform helps the experts or teachers for creating any kind of courses for their students. The
courses can even be of no charge sometimes. This online platform is well accepted
worldwide.
Conclusion
Therefore, it can be concluded that there are various differences between face-to-face
and online classroom. Online classroom helps the proper integration of ICT with education
system. The multimedia should be properly selected so that it could enhance the learning
domain.
