Respected Mam
I am writing this letter on behalf of the health region regarding the issue that has been
going on between you and your neighbour regarding the overflowing of sewage disposal system
into private property. Health region has the authority to monitor public health. As the
overflowing of the sewage system is highly unhygienic and can seriously affect public health, it
is identified as a serious concern and needs to be administered immediately.
Few things that I plan to work on is to limit the sewage storage not less than 100 gallons
in comparison to holding or storage tank. It must be noted that the storage tank must be enough
to accumulate sewage for at least 15 days. All the houses need to have facilities for the storage of
sewage and to maintain all the necessary structural conditions (Canada, 2020). Every person
needs to have permission from the Saskatchewan Environment as well as written permission
from the local government for sewage transport. The disposal of sewage must be done at a
particular time and point and it must be chargeable if the rules are not followed. Any person
failing or refusing the following need to be punished by law. The person disobeying law for the
first time must be charged with $75K and every day the offence continuous the person would be
charged with more $100 (The Shoreland Pollution Control Regulations, 1976, 2020).
I am sorry that you had to go through the issue for the last 2 years and I can assure that I am
taking the issue seriously and I would try to implement these rules quickly in your locality.
However, I would like to visit your premises for investigation before applying any charges to
your neighbour.
