Marketing is an activity which helps in promoting the business through supply of goods
and services in the market. STP(Segmentation, Targeting, Positioning) is a part of marketing
which helps to makes the marketing procedure easy(MS, 2019). In this report, chosen firm is
Opera Philadelphia, it is an opera company which is located in America and it was established in
1975 with the merger of Philadelphia Lyric Opera company. This report will cover porter's five
forces model and SWOT analysis of company.
MAIN BODY
a.) Conduct a Porter's five forces on Opera Philadelphia
It helps to determine the strength and weakness and identify the industry's structure.
This metrix are discussed below:
Competition in the industry: the power of competition is moderate- high because in
older times this company had positioned itself Opera but now, it has to face no. of
competitors such as Centre City Opera, Curtis Opera Theatre.
Potential of new entrants: The bargaining power of new entrants is low as if new entry
comes so organisation will affect but with less influence . Because customers are highly
preferred Opera Philadelphia.
Power of suppliers: The power of this force is high because, it is the only american
company in Philadelphia that produce grand opera(Teixeira and Piechota, 2019).
Power of customers: The potential of client is moderate as it can easily switch on other
companies in order to enjoy the Opera.
Threat of substitute product: The bargaining power of this force is moderate, because
customer easily switch to the other substitutes like live concert, jam session etc.
b.) Conduct a SWOT analysis on Opera.
