INTRODUCTION
An operating system (OS) is an interface between a user of computer and computer
hardware (Resch, 2017). All the basic tasks such as file management, memory management,
process management etc are performed by operating system.
In this report the Window server 2012 R2 will be installed on the Oracle virtual box and
the four advantages of domain based environment over work group environment will be
discussed in this report.
TASK 1
Installation of Windows Sever 2012 R2 on Oracle Virtual Box
The steps for installing windows server 2012 R2 on virtual box are as follows-:
1. From Tech Net evaluation center firstly download the windows' server 2012 R2 evaluation.

2. The oracle virtual manager need to be selected , for that
 The NEW need to be selected
 Name : Windows Server 2012 R2
 Type: Microsoft windows
 Version: Windows 2012 (64-bit)

3. In the next step the 5120 M memory size need to be given

4. The virtual hard disk now need to be created

5. The Virtual Box disk Image need to be chosen

6. The dynamically allocated need to be selected

7. The size 30 GB need to be given

8. One can also select the VDI image location of file

9. The “create” need to be clicked in order to create “Windows server 2012 R2” virtual
machine(Peter and Roscoe, 2016)

10. To the virtual CD/DVD diver now attch the ISO image
 Make sure that Windows Server 2012 R2 VM is chosen and click on settings.
 The storage need to be selected. Under IDE controller click on empty.
 Click on “+” sign in attributes section for adding optional disk.
 The “ choose a disk file” need to be selected
 The location where the windows DVD IDO file is saved need to be browsed and also
select it.
 Click on open
