INTRODUCTION
Operation management is administration of the business practices for creating
the highest level of the efficiency which are possible across the organization. It is helpful
for company to effectively manage several attributes of operation that are equipment,
peoples, technology and information etc.,
IKEA is the European multinational company which sells and design ready to
assemble furniture, home accessories and kitchen appliances. It is the largest furniture
retailer with total revenue of US$45.4 billion. The above report includes research design
proposal on the effectiveness of operation management approaches to organization.

Operation management includes planning, supervising an organizing procedure
and making essential improvement for the higher profitability. It is administration of
various business practice that aims for ensuring maximum efficiency among business,
which is helpful to organization for improving their profitability. It includes resource from
staff, equipment, material and technology, converting them into effective and efficient
output both level strategic and day-to-day as well across company.

This topic is selected as it is the area of my interest and I could be effectively
implemented and manage this operation management approaches in the organization
which will be helpful for them in enhancing their profitability along with quality of goods
and services within the operation process.

Research topic will be further helpful so that effective operation management
approaches in practical context will be helpful for a company to improve the quality of
their product throughout its operation activities. For academic perspective it will be
helpful in further research which will be conducted in the future. Thus, overall it will be

Research Philosophy-
It is associated with the clarification of various assumptions for sources and
nature of the knowledge. The main aim of research philosophy to provide a base for
essential knowledge and skill that are needed for completion of research. It is helpful for
analyzing research information into the correct direction so that determined outcome
could be received. The variety of research philosophy could be used by researcher that
can be realism, positivism and Interpretivism. Each of the approach has various ways
for incorporating research analysis (Yi, Shen and Lei, 2019).
The positivism philosophy rely on fact and the quantitative data. The
Interpretivism philosophy render more efficient and validate result.
In order to carry out the research for analyzing the effectiveness of operation
management approach Interpretivism philosophy would be used as with the help of
small sample and depth study, research could be specifically conducted with qualitative
data and investigations.
Research Approach
Using the appropriate research approach helpful for systematic and simplified
way to conduct research. Research approach determine flexibility in methods of the

data collection and analysis. These approach could be divided into two categories-
inductive and deductive.
For analyzing quantitative data the deductive approach is suitable as compare to
the other research approach. It is suitable to research that are already specified and the
top down methods is needed for accomplishment of aim and objective of research. In
inductive approach variety f of evidence, theory, analysis and practical model which are
used for rendering appropriate cause for collecting data (Kang and et.al., 2016).
In order to carry out research inductive approach will be used further so that
effectiveness of operation management approach could be analyzed and output can be
suggested. This is considered as bottom up methodology in which primary observation
are recorded and further with the help of theory results are determined.
Data Analysis
Analysis of collected and observed data render conclusion that how effective the
operation management approaches to organization. Primary data is collected in this
research. By quantitative or qualitative approach primary data could be analyzed.
Quantitative analysis of data include use of the critical evaluation of the statistic,
numerical data and facts. Rational thinking is applied by researcher for transforming raw
statistic data into meaningful information and knowledge. In qualitative approach, no
statistical approaches are used for analyzing and collecting data. It includes picture,
word, observation and symbol by which data could be obtained.
In order to carry out the research qualitative analysis has been used. In this
approach common particular patterns are recognized among the response of sample so
that data will be analyzed and appropriate output would be obtained. At the end
analyzed information is arranged and organized in proper manner so that hidden
concept could be reviewed and explored. On the basis of questionnaire themes are
developed by which data will be interpreted. Thematic analysis of data will be taken into
consideration so that response of the participant can be reviewed through nun-numeric
informations (Ichinose and et.al., 2018). The benefit of this research is that it render
detailed knowledge and information of subject. Thus, effectiveness of operation
management approach will be easily analyzed.

Data Collection Method
For gaining objective of research validate data should be analyzed and collected.
The effectiveness of operation management approaches could be analyzed by
collecting related data from relevant and multiple source. Data will be collected by using
primary or secondary data collection methods.
In the primary data collection method individual perspective or observation are
analyzed so that recent concept could be modified or formulated. It can be done by
several methods that are questionnaire, conducting survey and interviews with selected
samples. In secondary data collection secondary information source that are books,
newspaper, article and journals are being studied.
In the research study the primary data collection method that is questionnaire will
be used. It will consist of question related to research subject. The secondary data
collection method is also used in which authorized data such as books, article, journal
and newspapers would be utilized for further research process (Bogale, Wang and Le,
2018).
Target population and samples
Sampling
For developing primary data collection procedure easier and feasible generally
small size of population is to be selected from associated audience of research.
Sampling process allow to select viable participant for gaining valid information.
There are two approach for sampling. Probability sampling in which participant
are randomly selected from particular subgroup. Hence, each of the individual has equal
opportunities to be selected for purpose of study. Main purpose for selecting this type of
the sampling method as it is fairer and true as compare to other approach in the context
of participant's response. It includes random sampling, stratified sampling and
systematic sampling. Whereas non-probability sampling is method in which particular
criteria is selected for considering individual as sample. Further, it could be considered
as the intentional sampling which utilize particular parameter for the purpose of
sampling.

In this research random sampling method will be used for selecting and choosing
participant of study. It would enable for selecting viable respondent without any
biasseness and hence validate and fair data is collected (Corominas and et.al., 2018).
Researcher will use questionnaire method to find out the answers of research
questions. Individual will involve 20 managers of IKEA company as sample to know
more about existing production issues faced by company and to what extent it is
essential for the firm to implement approaches of operation management such as Six
sigma, lean manufacturing to resolve such problems.
Chapter 3 Data Analysis

Yes, the proposal for analysis is linked back to literature and research question
effectively. The proposal is overall prepared on the basis of literature and it includes the
overview of study which will be conducted in research (Holland and et.al., 2018). Data
analysis is whole-fully related to the context of the study topic that is effectiveness of
operation management approaches to the organization.
Specification of analysis method-
The thematic data analysis method is to be used under the qualitative approach
which is helpful for reviewing participant response by nun-numeric knowledge and
information. So that detailed evaluation of effectiveness of operation management
