The Diagram below shows the Data Flow Layout of the Smart Electric Web Portal. There are
three types of users who uses the web portal which include the customer service support
management, the customers who access the portal through the internet and the admin user who
regularly update the portal.
Some of the technical requirements include the following; web browser such as the Mozilla
Firefox and internet connection through internet service Provider (ISP). The web portal works on
a hosting server that can be a virtual server or dedicated server.

The User can register as a user and verify its validity using the email address. Then the user can
be able to Login as a user and enjoy the services offered by the smart electric company. The data
generated from the web portal are directed to the server using the network IP and they are stored
in the dedicated servers over a cloud storage systems. The backup are then automate over a
backup system on the cloud storage.
IDENTIFICATION OF RELATED SYSTEMS
A web portal is an application that is an internet based. Some related systems to this include the
use of online web applications such as the e-commerce websites, the point of sales software and
the online inventory management systems.
Some of the regulatory requirement include building up policy standards which will ensure that
the integrity of the system is made totally secured. The standards include the use of individual
passwords and usernames to login to the system. The following are some of the related systems

4. Online Hotel booking system
Risk Approaches
The Risk approach is ensuring that there is a system admin who will be responsible for all the
processes and the transaction taking place within the system. It is the work of the admin to
identify the Loopholes which may lead to the system being insecure. The admin will look into it
and correct the mistakes. The following are the risk approaches which have been used;

2. Evaluate Risks – setting up a security policy and Risk tolerance behaviors
3. Treat Risks – accept or avoid the Risks
4. Manage Changes – make any change where necessary
IT Tasks
The user can register on the portal and the verification code will be required to be generated for
validation. The code will be send to the email address where the user will confirm it by login into
the email and clicking on the Link. The user will be filling on the form that is provided on the
portal and each section must be able to recognize its use. It must be able to identify that a valid
email address has been used. An access control is need for all the registered users so that they
can be able to login to the system using biometrics. The system will display the reports regarding
all the processes and transactions within the system.
