In order to maintain its price leadership position, Aldi is trying to provide a flexible
pricing strategy by expanding its offerings of the price label brands (Pahwa 2019). This
operations strategy adopted by the company will help it to maintain its market position in the
long term. The price leadership strategy adopted by the IKEA is a low price one and it aims at
meeting its customers every day needs at lower prices.
Case 2: Operations Developments at Benetton
Operations activities have been developed in the Benetton for all its casual business wear,
retail networks, sportswear and others. The developments that took place is that of high tech
techniques for improving production, relocation of its contractors, relocation of poles for
production, reorganization of policies in the commercial field and others.
Case 3: Restructuring within the Healthcare Industry.
There have been significant restructuring activities in the health systems in the
industrialized world. These restructuring activities are aimed at reducing the cost while also
providing better care to the patients. These activities are being faced with many challenges such
as centralization, rigidity and many others. Therefore it can be said that the restructuring
activities demand change and is complicated.
