Roles of AUDIT_ADMIN and AUDIT_VIEWER
Unified Auditing features are some of the improvement made by Oracle 12c. Auditing
involves examining financial records while determining the financial position of a Business.
Database auditing consists of analyzing the database to assess data accessed by administrators,
consultants, and other database users in an organization. Unified Auditing ensures all trial data is
standardized and streamlined. It also provides that one can run reports analysis for a set of data in
a single operation. The Oracle 12c performs two specific roles in managing data in the database.
First, the AUDIT_ADMIN helps in ensuring that the audit policies created, altered, and dropped.
It also provides that the various audit policies are disabled or enabled for the different business
requirements to view and clean-up the audit trail records (ZHANG & CHEN, 2017).
The AUDIT_VIEWER is used by users who want to view the audit trail contents.
Database auditing provides security for databases through recording and monitoring the
configured database actions by the database users and non-database users. These two roles make

2019). Auditing procedures require AUDIT_ADMIN assistance. Therefore auditors are required

The AUDIT_ADMIN and AUDIT_VIEWER provide privileges to the user through
creating unified, and excellent grained policies of the auditing process. The users are allowed to
view data effectively and therefore manage the auditing process accordingly. It is only the
trusted users will be able to enjoy the roles as that will again provide security to the systems.

The AUDIT_VIEWER is responsible for giving room for users to analyze and audit the
data effectively and thus bringing about the viewing of the data without having to experience a
lot of challenges. Oracle 12c has made efforts by coming up with both AUDIT_ADMIN and
AUDIT_VIEWER roles as it helps users in carrying out different activities. The audit
configuration and the audit trail administration facilitated through the introduction of the two
parts of AUDIT_ADMIN and VIEWER; hence, it ensures users can edit the data effectively. It is
stated that “Auditing is the monitoring and recording of configured database actions form both
the users” (Us, Clients, Now & Us, 2019).
To conclude, the Auditing and analysis of data facilitated by AUDIT_ADMIN and
AUDIT_VIEWER, and therefore, useful data analysis achieved in different means. Thus, the
faster Auditing is done by giving users rooms to improve their information sector within the
organization. The Oracle database ensures audit records are managed and controlled to prevent
data loss. The audit records are, therefore queued to the systems’ memory to reduce and avoid
the damages on data. Finally, the database auditing is the ability to monitor and observe the
activities carried out by the users within the database. The database auditing is carried out to
bring about security to the systems hence securing the data handled by the users.
