corridor. On completion Oran Park will have the following; a 50,000 square metre town
centre and two neighbourhood centres, 36 kilometres of walking and cycling routes and 148
hectares of open space. This report is about the cost estimation of constructing an
underground car parking adjacent to the retirement village with a capacity of approximately
30 cars. The figure below is a master plan of Oran Park development.

Underground parking is a structured parking facility constructed below the ground level,
either as a building basement or covered with a structure above (Bhuyan, 2015, p. 368).

and with a capacity of roughly 30 cars. Will need the use of techniques and materials which falls
under the highest quality ratings as much as possible for the purpose of ensuring safety, stability
and longevity (Mulley, 2014, p. 361).

A wide range of equipment and machinery will be required for the construction of the
underground car parking. Some of the equipment that will be required include;
i) Excavators
The excavators will be required during the excavation of the ground to remove soils and rocks to
create space where the underground park will be located. The figure below is an example of an

The bulldozer will be required during the construction of the underground car parking to remove
a large amount of earth, soils, and rocks from the site of construction to other parts that may

v) Trailers

they may be required for landfilling. The trailers will also be used for transporting the
construction materials to the site.
