Library’s Harvard Referencing LibGuide shows that there are two distinct ways to paraphrase
and cite the information.
Below is a short passage that comes from page 255 of the journal article from Task 2. Using this
passage, give an example of the two citation/referencing methods. (1 mark).
Today more than ever, organisations must compete to attract
and retain high quality employees. Law enforcement agencies
face the additional challenge of having to maintain a stable
workforce committed to the work and the organisation.
Paraphrasing example 1
In the current scenario, competition between the firms is very crucial to allure workers with high
calibre and retain them. Maintaining a steady human resource, pledged to the task as well as the firm
is an added challenge to be confronted by some Law enforcement firms.
Paraphrasing example 2
In the present circumstances, facing heavy competition is imperative for the companies to fulfill the
purpose of alluring and retaining extremely good staff. There are some additional challenges for the
law-enforcement companies to preserve a constant workforce and human resource loyal to the
company.
4. Show how you would identify the article from question 2 in the Reference List of an academic
paper. Ensure you follow the exact formatting style illustrated in the SCU Library’s Harvard

To create the referencing of the article from question 2, first I will log in to the SCU website using my
login credentials. The article can be easily accessed using the search bar. I will enter the article into the
search bar in the SCU library which will direct me to the article page.
There we can select which type of referencing style we need for the article’s reference. After selecting
the article and the required specifications we can generate the reference for that article using a
citation button. The reference generated can also be used to identify the details of the article. The DOI
number can be identified from the article. The DOI for the article used in question 2 is:

you will cite in Asmt 1b and Asmt 1c. Insert the details of this article in the area below.
