FUNDAMENTAL OF ORG COMMUNICATION: QUESTIONS 2
Question 1
How results from the exercise relate to my work values?
After doing the exercise on page 414, my findings indicated that I do care so much about
Family since it is the one with the highest value. For a fact, Family is the most important thing in
a person’s life that either builds or destroys (Laura, 1993). The second on the list is the social
environment. Friends represent part of our social environment and this has been shown in the
list. Friends as well as family will play an important role in our work life that is why I prioritized
them over creativity, power, aesthetic and money. Though, money is essential but sometimes it
does not have that too much effect as families, friends or creativeness (Laura, 1993). As for me
my work life is influenced by my family and therefore all I do is for my family.
Are you experiencing a sense of congruence?
Congruence is how things are similarly related. When the objectives or goals of a worker
and his manager are related, that means there is congruence between the two parties (Rogers,
2014). For me, if my objectives match that of other colleagues or my bosses in the organization
then that gives me a driving force to work even harder. After working for a certain company for
quite some time, I became tired since the work was oppressing with no time to take a break
(Rogers, 2014). I was working so many hours a week, I needed another job and that is why I had
to quit and find a job that could accommodate my objectives and have a better pay. I now have a
new job that allows me work for fewer hours a week and pays me just enough. The time
allocated for each week by my bosses is what I wanted.

FUNDAMENTAL OF ORG COMMUNICATION: QUESTIONS 3
Question 2
One of the major challenge described in this textbook is the autonomy of people living
with dementia having conflicts with their health care managers. This can lead to harm to these
people since their low memory does not allow them to remember how they are cared for.
Another problem is that this people need to be asked questions by people they know and trust so
that they can talk good (Rogers, 2014). These people are not responsive when they see new faces
and that is they need to talk to people that understand them. Again, these people should be asked
politely to participate in the functions not dragged, or else this causes conflicts.
Paternalism will be an efficient way of dealing with beneficence and non-maleficence
among the people with dementia. These people need to appreciate the way they are and allow
other people to help them (Rogers, 2014). To help prevent ethical issues during functions of
helping them, then they should be asked to write their problems rather than expressing them
orally. Those people helping them should also write how they feel about these people. The health
care officers in charge of these people should be given time to talk to them so that they will be no
issues since this people do not respond well to new people (Rogers, 2014). This process should
not disclose the identity of this people so that confidentiality is assured.
Question 3
Health care management involves planning, coordinating, directing and management of
the health services in an organization or an institution. Swiss Aggrotech has various job
positions. One of them includes the health care executives (Laura, 1993). Since it was noticed
that Health is a major issue, that must be addressed in an organization. Maintenance and safety of
the workers and the community at large, the organization employed qualified personnel with
doctorates in Health administration to be their Health Executives (Laura, 1993). The people are

tasked with ensuring that the safety and health of the workers or patients is on point. They also,
ensure that the entire management team/ leadership team maintains the health of the workers.
Additionally, they provide facilities or equipment that ensure safety to patients are provided,
create a safety culture in the organization so that no patient is affected at all and solve all
problems associated with the health of the patients.
One of the ethical issue that rises in healthcare management is the ability to balance
profits after giving this health services to the patients or employees (Rogers, 2014). This is quite
a big issue in Swiss Aggrotech. This becomes a major issue when the health care officers have to
be paid. It becomes difficult to serve these patients when huge funds are directed towards the
equipment and personnel in the organization. To deal with this issue then the number of health
care personnel employed should correspond to the number of patients (Rogers, 2014). The
organization should not employ more officers when the number of patients is always small.
