INTRODUCTION
An organization needs to maintain and create a positive culture. This enables them to
attain goals and objectives easily. Moreover, any change in culture highly impact on
employee performance as well. For this, it requires to form policies and team. Also, behavior
of employees is affected due to change in culture. The culture mainly depends on nature,
power, etc. of management..
The assignment will describe about affect of power, politics, etc. on individual and
team. It will also discuss process and content theories of motivation. Besides, difference
between effective and ineffective team with theories will be explained. In last section,
concept and models of OB is described.

P1 How culture and power and politics influence individual and group behavior
A company needs to empower staff to work in convincing way. It is their obligation of
administrators to shape strategies and apply it. They are surrounded by the people who are
having ability to do all things. At the point when culture in affected, it effect on behavior of
individual and group. Also, the intensity of the board reflects how staff react and respond to it
and jobs are allocated to them. This additionally changes their efficiency and objectives are
not accomplished also. Likewise, they are not ready to work in compelling manner.
As said by Handy there can be four sorts of authoritative culture that can exists. They are
mentioned as:-
Power- in this sort the position and power remain just in few people. They are having some
special rights which they use in taking decisions. Here, subordinates need to seek after those
as they work at lower level.
person – in this the employees are given progressively exceptional in organization. They
probably won't stay committed a while later.
task – here, people who have same obligation and authority are given as undertaking in
which they contribute. This sort of culture is generally favored by companies.
role - in this staff jobs are chosen premise of their position. This empowers in separating their
jobs on premise of abilities and roles. Besides, when a worker is prepared to take more roles,
it implies the person will be liable for other things.
However, in LG task culture is applied. The staff are assigned various roles. It allows
them to perform that with responsibility.

P2 Content and process theories of motivation
It is essential to encourage workers continuously so their efficiency is improved.
Likewise, it empowers in expanding their effectiveness and accomplishing objectives and
goals. They feel that company deals with their needs. With motivation behavior of individual
can be impacted in positive way. Through this, they put more attempts in performing
undertaking tasks and attainting it. It is applied by culture of affiliation.
Content theories are applied to motivate on basis of their needs. Here, Maslow theory is
applied. It involves five basic needs that are as follows :-
Psychological needs- it contains fundamental requirement for individual. They are clothing
food, water, etc.
Wellbeing – they are those safety and security needs. People want safety from theft, crime,
etc.
Love- every individual need society, family, friends, etc. this needs express human should get
love and warmth from others.
Esteem- they are ordered into two sorts that is inner and outer. Inside necessities are respect,
regard, etc. while outside are control, status, etc.
Self acknowledgment – people need to get info with the objective that they can become what
they can do.
Herzberg two factor - it is applied by the board to perceive the factors that encourage staff.
according to it, opposite of satisfaction is no achievements and reverse of dissatisfaction is no
failure.
Hygiene – in this a clean work place condition is provided to staff. There are some factors in
it such as:
Pay- the remuneration structure must be legitimate. It must be comparable and same as basic
in industry.
benefits- there has to be many benefits like insurance, medical services, etc.
working conditions- the work place must be safe. It should have safety equipment’s .
Motivator – Apart from above, they are those factors that helps in encouraging employees as
well.
Opportunities for growth – company must provide growth opportunities for staff. It results in
keeping them motivated.

P3 Difference between effective and ineffective team
In organization there are various types of functions and tasks performed and in order to
do so several types of teams are formed. Working in group empowers in accomplishing
objectives in effective way. They are given various jobs and duties. A group is arranged on
premise of two that is effective and ineffective. The individual satisfactorily plays out that
activity and contributes. Also, the technique for working of individual varies.
In effective group jobs are allocated in formal manner that is by doing a meeting. But in
ineffective group jobs are casually alloted. There is an appropriate and orderly specialized
strategy followed in effective team. Whereas in other one there is nothing of this sort. Also,
jobs are alloted by evaluating skills and capacities of individual in effective team. On other
hand jobs are appointed in casual manner. In effective group decisions are taken commonly
or by a mutual decision. It results in creating and building strong relation. While in
ineffective group choice are taken by not counseling with any individual from group. In any
case, there are set benchmarks and rules pursued to work in effective team. On opposite no
set rules are framed or followed in other one. Moreover, the division of work is appropriately
done and each one knows what they need to do and how. While in other group nothing is

discussed among members that what they need to do. The members in effective team support
others while there is no support of any member in ineffective team.
Here, Tuckman model is utilized to frame a group . The model is explained as:
forming- it is first stage in which colleagues do not know about each other. They don't think
about what assignment they need to perform. The group is just shaped to accomplish
objectives.
Storming – Here, individuals are introduced to each other. They cooperate to finish target.
Jobs and duties are allocated to them.
Norming – in this issues are resolved by members to work together. They try to built
relationship with one another. It enables in helping and completing goals.
Performing – Now, focus is on things attaining higher goals and objectives. Leader starts
assessing execution of individual workers.
Adjourning – After fulfillment of desired task, group is broken down. Be that as it may,
part still communicate with one another. They think that is hard to work in new group.
In LG there are many teams formed in business functions. The teams attain their goals
and objectives in proper way. Moreover, their performance is measured and improved. The
staff help each other in difficult times. They also share ideas so that creativity is enhanced.

P4 Concepts and ways of thinking of authoritative conduct
OB comprises of approaches, structure, jobs, culture and so on thus, these all greatly
impact on conduct of employees. The philosophies and concepts are pursued in OB. Through
this, positive culture can be maintained. Generally, OB depends on nature of individuals and
company which is discussed as:
Nature of people – it depicts the traits or features of person. They vary from person. By
identifying nature of person their behavior is determined. In addition, conduct can be affected
by various components. The factors are:
Perception- The way wherein staff watch things and react to them reflects their insight. An
individual must be diverse and friendly with other. Employees understand and separate things
and a short time later take decision. Likewise, employees thinking is included.
Individual difference- as each person differs from one another the manager should respect
and treat them in equivalent manner. They must not do any discrimination on basis of age,
gender, caste, etc. Also, manager should not condemn any person on basis of factors like age,

sex, etc. other than this, performance must be evaluated on their work apart from any other
thing.
Behavior - it shows how an individual perceive towards their work. There are numerous
things included here. The behavior of person can be affected by others easily. Along with it,
there is high effect on motivation that can be either positive or negative.
Positive – here, objective is to empower staff by giving them benefits and rewards. The
purpose is to change their behavior so that goals are achieved in efficient way and in
specified time.
Negative – in this staff are forced to change their behavior. For this they are given warning
and pressurize them by manager to do tasks. Hence, there is negative impact on their nature
as well.
Nature of organization- it show ethics of firm that how and why they respect employees.
Organization has to maintain positive culture in order to satisfy staff and retain them for long
term. The elements included in it are described below :-
Social framework – It reflect whole structure of firm and what strategies and methods are
pursued. It also reflects that how stakeholders are dealt with. It tends to be either formal or
casual. Formal means to do work in team while informal means to enjoy.
Ethics or morals – it is also crucial element that shows standards set to attract more people to
work with. They are ethics related to staff social feelings.
Mutual interest – the association must have mutual interest for staff. It infers they should
distinguish their staff needs and satisfy it.
In LG the above are followed in order to maintain positive culture. The managers are
able to identify employees needs and fulfil it. Also, policies are formed to work in ethical
way. The manager makes sure that each person respect other. Moreover, LG deals with
stakeholders in effective way.
CONCLUSION
It is summarized that culture is mostly impacted due to change in power, politics, etc.
Also, team and individual behavior is influenced by this. The Handy model contain 4 types of
culture that are power, task, role and person. Beside process and content theories of
motivation are Maslow, Hertzberg, goals setting, equity theory, etc. furthermore, there is
great difference between effective and ineffective team. The effective team is formed by
tuckman model. Also, philosophies of OB is nature of organization and individual.
