INTRODUCTION
Organisational behaviour is related with human behaviour and thinking while working at
workplace. Therefore it essentially required for company to identify and make proper analyse of
employee's behaviour towards the activity they performed in working environment. The manager
is held responsible to understand the behaviour of their employees who contribute their
maximum efforts in achieving growth and success for an organisation. To improve efficiency
and productivity of company the manager or leader should carefully need to identify the complex
nature of an individual which will help them in maintaining healthy relation with their employees
(Bolino and et. al., 2013). BBC a company of UK which deals in collecting different and
effective new and affairs from all over the world is taken for the purpose of preparing this
assignment. The main purpose of preparing this report is to provide and communicate crucial and
important information relating to happenings occur within and outside of the country. The
project covers organisational culture, policies and power which play an important role in
influencing individual and team's behaviour. Different theories of motivations also explained in
this report.

and responsibilities to their employees according their skills and capabilities in order to get
positive result. Delegating work to appropriate and qualified employees will be beneficial for
company as the skilled employees know how to utilise available resources at an optimum manner
in order to achieve better possible outcome (Coccia, 2014). Therefore it is important for BBC to
put their workers in facing complex situation which help company to identify the strengths and
weaknesses of their employees and accordingly assigning roles and responsibilities to them.

can easily get direction from top authority and perform accordingly in order to achieve desired

in pyramid which clearly shows the actual needs of an individual. The first fundamental need of
an individual that need to be fulfilled is food, cloth and shelter and after which the employees
need to focus on fulfilling its another need which is safety and security relating to their
employability. Social needs is also an important need which need to attain by employees relating
to establishing healthy relations with other employees. It will help in generating self confidence
in employees at workplace. Self-actualisation is also there which is used to resolve issues and
problems faced by workers in working environment.

Forming: At this stage the group need to be more polite and patient with a purpose fo
communicate well to their employees regarding the practices performed by them. In this stage
power and responsibilities are clearly defined therefore team leader should play an important role
in achieving desired objective. BBC need to follow such same policy in order to achieve desired
target.
Storming: In this stage the employees are able to know about their roles and
responsibilities performed by them in order to achieve desired target. Thus if BBC need to
achieve growth and success them it must required to motivate their staff members to formulate
effective decisions in order to achieve better possible result.
Norming: In this stage the team leader provides acceptant relating to work they need to
be performed. The team leader have main responsibility to identify issues and problems and
accordingly implement corrective measures in order to maximise the satisfaction level of their
employees. BBC need to assign duties to their team leader through which they can give proper
guidance to its workers.

BBC need to focus on utilizing available resources at an optimum manner through
implementing effective plan and strategy. This will help company in maintaining healthy
environment at workplace in which the employees can easily coordinate with each other to
achieve desired objectives. The managers of BBC should adopt Path Goal theory in order to
develop team work. Such theory are described as below:
Path goals theory: This theory is based on room's expectancy theory which defines the interest
and behaviour of employees in working environment. The main objective of BBC to to motivate
employees to involve in various activities and contribute their maximum efforts in achieving
desired result (Teh and Sun, 2012). This model is depend of various steps which are explained
as below:
Task and environmental characteristics: It is necessarily required for business to resolve
issues and problems arises at workplace. In BBC the team leader are focused on identifying
external factors which affect the business operations and accordingly take corrective actions in
order to achieve positive result.
Leader Behaviour or style: It is required for company to adopt some leadership styles
which help them in enhancing performance of team. The leaders need to have efficient skills
relating to providing direction, participation and supportive in nature.
(B) Various barriers that could affect team performance
There are some barriers which ca affect and influence the performance of an organisation. Such
are as follows:
Poor communication: The organisation must required to implement effective
communication channel for their various departments in order to transfer information from one
