This report provides an in-depth analysis of organisational behaviour, using Sainsbury as a case study. It explores how organisational culture, politics, and power influence individual and team behaviour and performance. The report examines Handy’s typology of organisational culture and Hofstede’s dimensions of culture. It also evaluates content and process theories of motivation, including Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and Goal Setting Theory, and how these theories enable effective achievement of goals within an organisational context. Furthermore, the report analyzes team and group development theories, such as the Tuckman model and Belbin team roles, to support the development of dynamic cooperation. Finally, it applies concepts and philosophies of organisational behaviour within an organisational context, exploring how these concepts inform and influence behaviour in both positive and negative ways.
