INTRODUCTION
Organisational communication is the type of communication channels internal or external
used by the company for its effective team working and removing all barriers to communications
(Stephenson, 2018). Jet2holidays is United Kingdom tour Operator Company providing various
holidays packages worldwide. In this report we will include analysing the purpose and principles
behind different forms of organisational communication and identification of the challenges to
effective communication. Furthermore, it will developing strategies for overcoming
communication barriers and evaluating the communication practices at individual and
organisational levels.

Organisational communication has wider field because it includes all type of
communication used in various companies (Wang, 2019). Effective communication is the key
success of every company and various organisation using different organisational
communication channels internal and external.

communication barriers and evaluating the communication practices at individual and
organisational levels.

Organisational communication has wider field because it includes all type of
communication used in various companies (Wang, 2019). Effective communication is the key
success of every company and various organisation using different organisational
communication channels internal and external.

Organisational theories of Jet2holidays
Organisational theories are the ways and methods of resolving misunderstanding due to improper
conduct of communication channels which leads to inefficiency in the performances of the
employee’s and managers.
Jet2holidays is using various organisational theories are as follows:
Acceptance theory of authority
This theory is proposed by Chester barnard in 1938 and it is used by Jet2holidays because
it include the authority of manager and its acceptability by its subordinates. This theory is all
about mutual acceptance of both the manager and the subordinates to work according to their
needs and company’s goals (Johnston, 2020). This theory helps this company by no conflict due
to acceptance by the subordinates and proper authority can be given by the manager about the
instructions and roles of the work.
Bureaucracy
This theory by German sociologist Max websites in which all set of rules and procedures
are clear to each level from higher to lower. Each department should be communicated its
individual responsibility and roles so that there is no confusion and misunderstanding in work or
the higher level employee’s cannot pressurised the lower level employee’s (Prottas, 2018). The
Jet2holidays is communicating its lower and higher level employee’s all the work and
procedures properly for no bureaucracy.
Theory X and Y
This is motivational theory designed by McGregor in which Theory X focus on
supervising or controlling the people or employee’s in way to achieve organisational goals
whereas theory Y is focusing on rewarding and recognising employee for achieving the set
targets (Zeng, 2021). Both the theories work on improving the performances of the employee by
motivating them through controlling or rewarding. The Jet2holidays is motivating its employee’s
by paying higher compensation for meeting the set targets or the managers of this company are
supervising the employee in a way to make them do the work with efficiency.

Jet2holidays is facing various barriers by the people in tours and booking holidays abroad
worldwide. Different barriers faced by this company are:

Choice of wrong communication: This is the biggest form of barriers in every
organisation because choosing the wrong medium can have negative effects on the
message that has to be changed and creates misunderstanding in understanding the
message (Bakar, 2020). The Jet2holidays is not using all type of languages due it its
customers are facing problems in understanding the proper packages and benefits. This
company has its operation worldwide and only 1 or 2 languages are not sufficient.
Noise: This Company is advertising its products worldwide and the most common barrier
that makes the process insufficient is the noise. It occurs due to various physical,
semantic. Psychological and physiological factors of the customers due to its operation
worldwide. This creates the problem in understanding the message properly and involved
in assumptions which are not true.
Cultural barriers: It involves misunderstanding in the meaning of information’s due to
different cultures and communication style of the people worldwide (Sovacool, 2020).
The employee’s with different cultures and languages it becomes difficult to make the
advertisement and the information understand properly by each employee. Cultural
differences are a big hurdle in understanding each other’s thoughts and feelings.

Decision- making barriers: The Jet2holiodays employees are facing problem due to no
involvement of employee’s in decision taking. This makes them feel demotivated towards
doing the work efficiently and effectively due to lack of communications to them.
Poor leadership: Due to lack of communication between the teams the leaders and
employee’s creates conflicts between the employees’. Leaders have to communicate
properly the work and the methods of doing it and the employee should communicate all
its difficulties to the leaders for better working.

communication to overcome the barriers and effective and efficient working in the organisations.
Further, it also concluded that this company is facing various communication barriers due to lack
of attentions of the employee or semantic barriers, or choosing the wrong medium which
prevents the customers for using the services of this company. Lastly, various methods and
practices are used which are helpful in preventing the barriers with proper using of
communication channels etc. for making everyone understand the shared information.
From the above report it has been concluded that organisational communication plays a
