Globalisation is driven by four key factors. They are cost, market, environment and

competition
(Jurriëns, 2021). These factors drive global trade and commerce. These factors are as
follows:-

Cost:- The motive of global companies is to maximise the investment. The nation
markets might not be enough to provide subsidiaries economies of scale and scope. The

aim is to get the best from the investment cost. Advertising and promotion can be a better

plan across borders as it makes awareness of making the product available where people

are going to hear about it
(Ahmed and Le, 2021). Cost will lead to major decisions about
which markets, customer segments or focus on product positioning. The marketers who

opted high differentiation in products may not forget to monitor costs.

Market:- In advanced economies customers are becoming similar in terms of education,
incomes, lifestyle, and others. Certain product marketers find ready buyers in some

countries with high purchasing power and well formulated infrastructures. Global

strategy does not mean serving the entire globe. Critical choices includes where to spend

the resources and where not. The approach is to start picking regions and then countries.

requires a little investment and provides high return on investment. A major disadvantage

is that company dependence on licensee to produce goods and paid royalty according to

percentage on sale volume. If the company does not produce revenue then the royalty

from sale may suffer.

Franchising:- It is similar to licensing in which property rights are sold to franchisee.
The rulers for how the franchisee operates the business is very strict as the processes

must be followed or any specific component which franchiser used should also be used

by franchisee. The barriers in this is that the owner does not have control on the business

as it should be followed according to the prescribed guidelines.

Exporting:- It is the direct sale of goods and services in another country. It is the best
