INTRODUCTION
An organisational structure can be defined as that outlines how various activities within
an organization are directed so as to attain the desired goals as well as objectives. Also, the
organizational structure of an organization determines the information flow between the different
levels of the company (Mansouri, Singh and Khan, 2018). On the other hand, organizational
culture within the organization can be defined as the collection of values, practices as well as
expectations that guide the employees. Organization chosen for this report is Marks and Spencer,
which is a leading British retailer of clothing and household products. The report explains the
different types of public sector organizational structures as well as the impact and role of central
government in public services.
LO 1
P1 Explain different types of public sector organisational structure
Organizations that operate within the public sector like government agencies, postal
services and educational institutions have organizational structures that are clearly defined. The
general structure of the organizations are hierarchical in nature. There is a clear chain of
command and all the employees within the organizations have a clarity of their roles as well as
responsibilities.
Government Organizational Structures The organizational structure within
government organizations is hierarchical in nature. Because of this, it is sometimes challenging
as there are formal procedures.
College Organizational Structure – Public universities usually have a board of trustees
and a chancellor who overlooks the activities in the workplace (Types of Organizational
Structure in the Public Sector, 2020). They are also responsible for making important decisions.
P2 Describe the concept of culture as it applies to public sector organisations
The culture of an organization is considered to be one of the most important aspects as it
helps in creating a positive and healthy environment as well as retain the employees for a longer
period of time. In context to public sector organizations, culture plays an important role as many
of these organizations have a hierarchical type of culture (Lord, Wingerde and Campbell, 2018).
It is primarily focussed on maintaining the internal stability of the company and ensuring that
employees adhere to the rules and procedures.

P3 Explain the impact and role of central and local government in the public services
The central and local government play an important and can significantly impact the
public services. The local government is responsible for overlooking the functions as well as
delivery of a wide range of services that are required by parks, roads, streets etc. On the other
hand, the central government has the responsibility for national environmental policy (Prasanna
and Haavisto, 2018). It is primarily directed towards contributing to the health as well as safety
of the public by improving the environment.

P4 Investigate different approaches to management styles within the public sector, providing
specific examples
There are different approaches to management style with in public sector organisation. In
public sector organisation all activities are managed and controlled by government (Van Rooij
and Fine, 2018). For example BBC organisation is considering autocratic management style for
successfully and effectively performing business practices. In this type of management style all
decision is taken by top management and all employees have to follow rules and regulations.
This is significant for taking quick decision of business and timely accomplishing goals.

P5 Outline the concept of organisational behaviour
Organisational behaviour can be describe as the study of the behaviour of human with in
company which will directly impact over the performance and effectiveness of business. This
refer as the way in which people interact and behave with in organisation (Taylor, 2018). This is
significant for operating business practices more effectively and accomplishing goals. This
define the way in which employees are behaving and performing business practices successfully,
The concept of organisational behaviour is important in order to improve job performance of
employees, increase job satisfaction level as well as promoting innovation along with leadership
practices.

P6 Examine how the relationship between motivation, organisational behaviour and reflection
impacts on performance in the workplace
There are different factors that will impact over the performance of employees with in
workplace. There is strong relationship between motivation, organisational behaviour and
reflection that influence over the capability and potential of employees to successfully conduct
business task (Odetunde and Ufodiama, 2017). Effective motivation of employees lead to have
positive impact over organisational behaviour and through this staff member performance will
significantly increase. Motivation will influence the reflection of employees capability and boost
their moral to effectively and efficiently conduct workplace practices. It is essential for company
to have proper motivation, positive organisation behaviour and reflection in order to impact over
performance of workplace.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that organisation behaviour will lead to have
direct impact on performance of organisation. Structure of organisation will provide guidance
and direction to employees for effectively conducting business practices. It is important that
organisation have proper management style for influencing performance of employees. It is
crucial for company to have proper relationship between motivation, reflection and
organisational behaviour.
