ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT
Activity 1 Answer 1
Hello everyone! My name is Clara. I am staying in Australia with my family for years.
Recently, I turned 26 and have been admitted to central Queensland University in B.com
department. Besides, I am taking internship courses from the manager of Telstra, who comes to
our college in the evening. The tutorials, which he gives is helping me to learn the managerial
skills, which I can apply when I am appointed in the workplace. I am not learning these courses
to reach to a particular position. Instead, I am undertaking these courses just to become familiar
with the workplace dynamics.
Activity 2 Answer 2
Management is a subject within my course. Therefore, I do not need to perceive the
subject as something outside my course. However, I feel that in order to attain perfection in
management, separate skills are needed. From my childhood, I wondered what the managers do.
I thought they are the happiest person, they just sit and instruct the people. However, the lectures
consisted of the concepts planning, organizing, leading and controlling (Dalkir & Beaulieu,
2017). Delving deep into the concepts, I realized that a manager’s function revolves around these
four aspects. Now, I have understood that a manager needs to make plans and properly transmit
them to the employees. In my personal life, I try to make plans before initiating the allocated
tasks. I arrange the schedule in such a way, which helps me to devote equal time to all the
activities. I also evaluate my progress, which helps me in assessing its effectiveness,
appropriateness and feasibility in terms of the identified and specified objectives.

ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT
Activity 3 Answer 3
I met many managers in my school life. In my college life also, I am getting the
leadership and guidance of senior managers. Out of these, one of the manager is my role model.
He is very kind, understanding and compassionate. Understanding nature helps students like me
to easily approach him for clarifying our doubts. Ever smiling appearance, even while
undertaking challenging and enduring tasks enhances his personality (Burke, 2017). He is full of
praises when we or the teachers help him out. He does not forget to acknowledge. The
characteristics of the manager, which I like the most are:
Understanding
Helpful
Compassionate
Aware of his duties and responsibilities
Awareness regarding the duties and responsibilities justifies his position within the
college. In every action, he is concerned about providing us with quality education, so that our
careers get well settled. Evaluation of the benefits of the actions makes him a leader in terms of
enhancing his personal and professional development (Tsoukas, 2017).
Activity 4 Topic 2
Within a workplace, employees belong to different socio-cultural backgrounds. While
dealing with the suppliers, the personnel mix with various kinds of people. Inter mixing of
different cultures enhances the stability in the relationship between the personnel and the

suppliers. However, in the process of dealing, there are high chances of differentiation in
opinions. This differentiation results in conflicts, discriminations and harassments, which destroy
the workplace integrity. Along with this, it also destroys the stability in the relationship between
the personnel and the stakeholders and shareholders (Ruler, 2015). This destruction compromises
with the needs, demands and requirements of the clients. Therefore, the three important
challenges in this direction are:
Difference in opinion
Compromise with the needs of the clients
Hampering productivity of the workplace
Planning for the negotiation means acts as an address for all these challenges. Involving
the personnel in these planning would result in the achievement of positive outcomes (Burke,
2017).
