HUMAN BEHAVIOUR IN ORGANIZATION
Teams are considered to be small groups of individuals with complementary kind of
skills who are able to work together as the unit for achieving the common purpose and for the
same, they try to perform in a collective manner which helps them in achieving the goals
successfully. In my Project Group, there were different culture of group people who were
working with me and the project which was being assigned to us was on completing a case
study on merger of a business and we were required to understand and find out the different
problems which were affecting the business. Lastly, the entire group was required to provide
recommendations which are needed for managing their performance in the future.
While working with the culturally diverse groups, the main aspect which was being
learnt by us is the team building concept. I feel that team building and bonding are the two
major elements which needs to be learnt by different individuals as it is the essential
investment. It helps in building trust, mitigates the different kinds of conflicts along with
increases the collaboration. From the respective team project, I have been able to learn the
different kinds of aspects which was related to the team building for improving morale of the
employees successfully.
Despite the fact of working in the diverse group, there were few experiences which I
would like to share wherein I faced few problems and it impacted the morale of mine and the
different team members. When individuals work in diverse groups, encountering of the
conflict is the key element as there are diverse members from various backgrounds and
personalities. While completing the assignment, there were mismatch in the ideas which
were generated from all the individuals and due to the same, it led to the clash in opinions
which impacted the entire effectiveness.
Moreover, due to lack of interpersonal similarity, there were only few points in
common for developing the mutual feeling towards one another that created break in the team

bonding to a great extent. Due to the same, it led to the ineffectiveness in the team structure
and lack of trust among the team members as well. These are the different issues which have
affected the morale of the team negatively and it created chaos in meeting the targets in a
smooth manner. I felt on a personal level that in order to reduce the cross-cultural impact on
the team, there should be group thinking along with motivation which will be playing a
suitable role in managing the cross-cultural team and improve the overall effectiveness within
a short span of time.
In such situation, wherein we faced difficulties agreeing to point of view of one
another, we tried to figure out that it cannot go a long way in this manner, and all the
members sat together and decided that we need to collect the reviews from each of the
members working in the team and then combining the same. With the help of the same, it
really worked and all the members were satisfied that their opinions have been valued. In
working with diverse team, the communication is the most crucial element we learnt and used
it for communicating and understanding the opinions of one another which literally helped us
in managing the decisions successfully.
I felt that motivation and improvement of morale of the employees are the two crucial
elements which needs to be implemented while completing a teamwork. In the culturally
diverse team, group effort is the ultimate aspect which needs to be implemented for making
the tasks completed in an easier manner. While we collected the review from all the members
in the group, we tried to discuss the topic in an informal manner as it made us feel that we are
becoming a team and not being formal. It helped us in completing the tasks suitably and
improved the confidence of the team members that the task will be completed within the
specified deadline.

HUMAN BEHAVIOUR IN ORGANIZATION
In reflecting my own experience, the stages of the team development are the most
appropriate aspect which can be followed for making the audiences understand the entire
scenario in a brief manner.
Forming- It is the first and initial stage wherein the professor told us in selecting the
team members and the task of the group will be decided accordingly. In our case, we fell in
the first and foremost category wherein professor provided us with time for selecting the
members who will be working with us. Though, we all were familiar with the faces of one
another, we tried to introduce again and thought of appointing one member as the leader of
the team. Moreover, we took contact numbers of one another for discussing regarding the
assignment wherein what is required to be done. Everyone tried to share their ideas in an
appropriate manner (Butler et al. 2018).
Norming- In the respective stage, the main problem occurred which was regarding the
organizing of the work which needs to be completed. Development of the timeline is the
other critical element which was required to be done as the entire case study needs to be
submitted within the specified timeline (Himanka and Haapanen 2019). All the group
members were having different views and it created high level of ineffectiveness in managing
the entire scenario. We tried to keep a note and maintain a time table on understanding which
task needs to be completed within which deadline for making it easier for everyone to get
their tasks done and completed within the timeline. (Refer to Appendix)
Storming- It is considered to be the third step wherein the team members were
strongly participating in the different tasks which were being assigned to them along with
managing their roles and responsibilities systematically (Jimenez et al. 2017).
Performing- Lastly, in the performing stage, on 23rd January 2020, we, all the
members of our team tried to present the report, we were awarded marks along with the

which helped us in completing the tasks within the specified deadline.
Therefore, from the above self-reflective essay, it can be concluded that the entire
group is considered to be the learning organization as we have been capable of learning many
things and aspects which was not possible if we never worked in a diverse group. In the
diverse group, the most essential aspect is learning to work with the different team members
from various cultures along with generating patience which is the key element in managing
