Azizipanah-Abarghooee, 2014). Moreover, power of the corporation will affect the
employees and their behaviours. However, conflict in business environment will
affect overall growth of business. The employees do not have rights to express their
views and ideas on an open forum and have to follow what their leader says. Due to
this, manager of organisation sometime can be partial to someone.
Task culture- In every organisation, teams are formed to achieve the target in
systematic manner. Administration use task culture to solve the critical problems. In
BBC, all employees have one common goal, through this process employees are able
to learn new skills and techniques. These new skills and knowledge will help
employees to enhance their performance. All workers will give extra efforts to
complete a common task and this process will help to make a healthy and friendly
environment in business. In such a culture, individual has to contribute equally and
accomplish target in the innovative way.
Person culture- In some organisation, employees feel that they are more important
than their corporation. Such corporation follows a culture known as person culture. In
this type of culture, individuals are more obsessed about their own self rather than the
corporation. In this culture, employees focused on their facilities more. In the BBC,
the workers are not happy with the corporation but there are various key people who
bring the administration on the first priority.
Role culture- In this culture, all workers are delegated roles and responsibility
according to their qualification and interest. In the BBC, the higher authority person is
able to do better roles and responsibilities but the lower employees are not able to
understand their roles and responsibilities (Zhang, Shah and Papageorgiou, 2013). So,
to bring the changes in culture, it is very necessary for BBC organisation to specify
employees’ roles.
Different culture will affect the behaviour of the workers. Some culture affects
employees positively; for example, task culture will bring the employees together. Through
this culture, all employees in BBC will be able to share their skills and knowledge with each
other. Furthermore, in BBC employees are not happy with the job conditions and culture of
organisation. It is because of this that new directors are continuously trying to change the

Politics- It is the main reason of conflict in the organisation. Politics can be in
between the workers. Employee who plays politics at the workplace pay less attention to their
work. Such types of employees are more interested in leg pulling and back biting. Due to
such issues, organisation is not able to bring working environment in systematic manner.
More politics in business environment bring negative traits in organisation culture. Therefore,
then new director of BBC needs to take decision to bring various changes in the business
culture. To improve the business growth power, politics will be less in BBC.

satisfy their customers through the different services and skills. Following theory will help to
relate the effectiveness of the team in the BBC such as Tuckman and Jensen model of team
development. This model includes the stages such as forming, storming, norming,
performing and adjourning.

Forming stage- This is first stage of above model. According to this stage team will
be formed on the basis of their competency and the different skills among all the
workers for the particular task. Some employees are anxious, as they have not
understood what work the team will do (Helleno, Pimentel, Ferro and et., 2015). So,
leader plays a crucial role in this stage, according to this stage leader has to maintain a
good relation with all employees through the best communication skill.
Once a team have been formed then try to set the target after set goal all employees
will work for a common task. But the main characteristics of this stage is to make the
interaction among the team members will be more and the productivity will be not according
to their efficiency. As this is the first stage so the employees are not able to interact with each
other.
Storming stage- this is the stage where many teams fail and not able to go for next
stage. In this stage team member can be dissatisfied with any other worker at any
time. All employees have different culture and ideas but, if differing working styles
generated unforeseen problems. In this stage team members feels frustration and
pressure.
Norming stage- this is the third stage of development in which conflicts are resolved.
This stage is used to build a good bond among the all employees. In this stage
coordination will better and all team members will work in unity. Due to the strong
bond and good relation in this stage employees are able to improve the efficiency and
this stage help the organisation to increase the productivity.
Performing stage- after the norming stage, team reaches at the performing stage. In
this stage team will be in the development process. At this stage leader has
responsibility to motivate all workers to enhance their performance (Jiang, Qin, Yu,,
Hu, et.al.,2016). At this stage due to hard work and pressure employees need more
motivation.
The adjourning stage- this is the final stage of development. In this stage, the purpose
of team will be fulfilled.
The above theory will help to find out the effectiveness of team in the BBC. Above
model will help BBC to improve the business and effectiveness. In starting stage BBC will
face some problems but through the motivation techniques and rewards system they can
be formed on the basis of their competency and the different skills among all the
workers for the particular task. Some employees are anxious, as they have not

improve the effectiveness. Apart from this through the best leadership style organisation can

TASK 4
P4 Organisation concept and theory for team performance
Path goal theory is based on leader's style and behaviour. The goal of this theory is to
improve the employee's performance through the motivation. Through this model BBC can
increase employee's motivation, empowerment and satisfaction so they become productive
members of the corporation (Mohammadi, Mozafari and Solimani, 2014). By this theory
BBC can focus on their leadership style because this theory is developed to describe the way
that leaders support their followers in accomplish the target.
Path goal theory follows basic steps as shown in below
1. Determine the employee and environment characteristics
2. Select a leadership style
3. Focus on motivational factors that will help the employees to boost the performance
Employee characteristics- workers understand their leader's behaviour based on their desire,
such as the degree of structure they need, desire for control. If leader provides more structure
than what employee need, they become less motivated, so that leader of BBC needs to
understand their employees.
Task and environment characteristics – Path goal theory focuses on overcoming obstacles.
If an obstacle becomes too strong, then leader have to follow steps which are given below.
