in the year 2019. From the year 2005, it is experiencing a continuous rise in its employee
strength (Liu, 2019). Additionally, it has also received an adequate number of positive
employee reviews on digital platforms like Indeed and Glassdoor (Indeed, 2020). Previously,
it is also counted as one of the best places to work (Cain, 2018).
Problem statement
The Apple employees have stated that they feel unvalued and unsafe in the toxic work
environment in Apple organization. Many employees have stated their problems via email to
their respective authorities (Ehrenkranz, 2016).
Problem analysis
The employees have stated that their co-workers crack rape jokes. One of the
employees named Danielle has also reported this issue to the authority but her repeated
formal complaints were ignored. It has distracted the employees and highly affected their

performance. The female employees felt unsafe in the presence of limited female staff
members on the floor. Besides females, male employees had also experienced gender
harassment in the workplace. One of the employees has reported a hostile work environment
and the authority has offered an unsatisfactory solution. The authority has stated that either
she has to experience a similar work environment or opt for a lower ranking in the company.
The employee has to consider the second option and opted for a demotion (Ehrenkranz,
2016).
The employees have experienced a high degree of misconduct and it has affected their
mental health. They have started facing sleeping disorders, insomnia, and depression and lack
of attention towards the work. This problem has gradually gained the attention of media and
it has laid a negative impact on the organization's reputation as it has also lowered its position
in the best place to work (John, 2019).
Problem solution
Apple organization should undertake timely measures to minimize these issues. The
following are the suggested remedial measures to minimize and eradicate the problem.
Recommended interventions
1. The company should frame strict policies against bullying practices in the workplace.
It will benefit the company to minimize the issue of an unsafe work environment. It
should offer an easy approach to the employees to report their problems associated
with bullying practices. It should impose heavy penalties on employees engaged in
these unethical practices. Additionally, it should recruit female authority to handle
these issues. This minor approach will assist the female employees to easily report
and share their problems and grievances without facing any discomfort and hesitation
(Harrington, Rayner, & Warren, 2012).
2. It should conduct a regular survey to gain insight into employees and their key issues
influencing their performance. It should conduct this survey via the digital platform as
it will save employee’s time, efforts and privacy.
3. Apple should develop healthcare centers for its human resources. It will aid in solving
employees' mental and physical health problems arises in the presence of an
unhealthy and unsafe working environment. It should timely conduct a health
program to check the employee's health status and offer medication.
