Introduction
In an organization, manager has to deal with different individuals possessing different ideas,
coming from different cultures, having different ideologies, and different methods of doing work.
Concerning this, a manager has to control all such situations which are taking place in an
organization in an effective way so that it leads to an adequate organizational behavior. In this
report an endeavor will be made to analyze different forms of organizational behavior with the
help of my organizational workshop observations, theories. The report will give an overview of
the whole situation, issues & challenges faced and strategies and remedies available (Wood et
al, 2013)
Summary of observations
Pursuant to my organizational workshop activity I observed various aspects of Organizational
Behavior by visiting organization’s different departments such as computer lab, library, and level
4, SEO Reception which I recorded in my Observation Diary. Recorded observations are as
follows:-
At 01:26, I reached to level 4 I observed that there three people were present and a discussion
was carrying on regarding academics and time table. They were all in the happy mood. All of
them were enjoying each other’s company and having a cooperative and healthy discussion
with each other and one of them was drinking coffee( Dixon-Woods, McNicol,. and Martin,
2012)
At 01:40, I stepped in computer lab I observed that around forty five people were present in the
lab and they were busy doing their work on computers systems and some were enjoying by
listening to music with their headphones on ( Foy et al.,2011)
At 01:52, I reached at SEO reception I observed that two ladies who were appointed at the
reception were in a jolly mood and helping out the students by answering and solving their
queries. They were enthusiastically performing their duties (Gold, Stewart, and Beardwell, eds
Holden, 2013)
By 2:00, I entered in the library and found out that there was nobody present in the library.
Library was vacant.

Analysis
With the help of Different theories of organizational behavior critical analysis of observations
will take place. Different Theories of Organizational Behavior:-
Motivation Theory
This theory was given by Elton Mayo, who suggests that organizations are social environments,
and individuals working there get boosted by talking, joking etc. with each other. Such
environment can be created by organizing social meetings and encouraging formation of
informal groups in the organization which leads to the healthy work environment ( Lepper, and
Greene, 2015)
This theory is perfectly applicable in the areas under my observations as according to Mayo’s
theory we can observe that there was a friendly relationship present between the employees at
each part of the organization. They were all found in a happy mood and enjoying each other’s
company( Ljungholm, 2014)
Emotional Intelligence
It represents a talent to adapt, control and analyze one’s emotions and use such emotions to
build ideas. It is emerging as a tool for effective organization and development for employees.
Three determinants of behavior are groups, individuals and structure( Nutbeam, Harris, and
Wise, 2010)
There are six strategies of emotional intelligence which leads to build effective organizational
behavior:
Foster Optimism
Self awareness
Facilitate Teamwork
Emergence of Flexibility
Diagnostic in nature

With the help of Different theories of organizational behavior critical analysis of observations
will take place. Different Theories of Organizational Behavior:-
Motivation Theory

It was develop by Max Weber. It includes social outlook. It increases specialization by way of
distribution of work between the stakeholders of the organization. It represents administrative
hierarchy. It puts focus on the principal that staff should be appointed according to their
qualifications (Gold, Stewart, and Beardwell, eds Holden, 2013)
Barnad’s Theory
He stressed that it is a system of cognizance interrelated activities. It focused on creating an
environment full of values and motives(Wood, Zeffane et al, 2013)
Challenges of 21ST Century To The Organizational Behavior:-
Personnel diversity: One of the problems an organization face is dealing with different

Dynamism in workforce: Dynamism is increasing as increasing no. of youngsters which
come with new mindset vibrant ideas which make existing employees feels de-
motivated(Foy et al., 2011)
Employer’s Interference: Nowadays, employers have started to interfere to much in the
employees lives which have lead to unrest among employees such as tapping the phone
lines, keep a check on internet surf, frequent drug tests(Gold et al., 2013)
Managing Technology and Innovations: Outdated technology and innovations leads to
losses and act as obstacle in the way of achieving the goals(Lepper, and Greene, 2015)
Universal challenges: Competition from world and management of organization in such a
way that it can cope up with the world at large(Ljungholm, 2014)
Reflection
By focusing on the above mentioned theories we have found out that the above theories are
applicable on the organization I have chosen for observing organizational behavior traits. I found
out that Motivation theory was appropriately applicable and Emotional Intelligence was also
present and rest of the two aforesaid theories was also found appropriate( Nutbeam, Harris,
and Wise, 2010)

Now talking about the challenges there are some REMEDIES also present for coming out of
such problem:
Problem of dynamism can be solved by introducing changes slowly and gradually so that
adaption of change becomes easier. A proper plan should be chalk down so that all the
strategies should be effectively implemented and less burdened will fall on employees. By
treating employees equally, giving preference to their ideologies, beliefs they can achieve the
organizational goals parallel with the individual’s goals .Through training and development of
existing employees threat of entry of new blood in the organization can also be resist. Through
building of proper communication channels a good employee-employer relationship can be built
(Wood et al., 2013)
By giving an opportunity to Employees/subordinates to have a say in the important decisions
this will built an initiative and confidence among them(Foy et al., 2011)
Conclusion
Organizational Behavior is the implementation of the wisdom about the individuals, units, and
their reactions in the organization they work in order to reach the highest standards of
performances and assertive results. Together with organizational behavior an effective social
competence can be built. Social Competence comprise of awareness, emotional and skills
which shows our conduct, and our social adaptation. This helps to built foreseeable interactions
and helps employees explore one’s own outlook. One of the methods to achieve innovative
business strategies is to capitalize its own personnel. In order to build an effective organization
practices a proper organizational behavior must be followed.
