Introduction
I, (student name), am pursuing my master’s degree in the study course of international
studies. The specialised area of my study is the subject of the United States national security
as well as the foreign policy in the region of the middle-east. This course is being taken up in
the concern of gaining practical and efficient knowledge as well as education with regards to
improving the interpersonal skills I inherit and work with at my workplace organisation. My
keen interest in the learning aspects and thereby increasing my knowledge as well as an
understanding of the fact that how the behaviour of different individuals and group of
individuals affects the entire synergy of organisational structure, the communication process,
the productivity level of the organisation as well as the cultural aspects connected to an
organisation. These all stated factors are known to create a profound difference in the
working scenario and the shaping of an organisation. I have been working in the overseas
background with the military-connected to the region of the United States. The designation I
work is the Arabic Linguist as well as a cultural advisor since the year of 2003. Working at
this designation, I came to witness the manner in which communication process and culture
aspects makes a difference in the plans and processes of a working organisation. Thus, the
course learning will help me to bring up an adequate level of cultural background as well as
the professional level of experience in my working organisation.
Discussion
Being an Arabic Linguistic as well as a cultural advisor, I would like my teammates in
the learning course to have the skills of effective communication so that they can get along
with each other well and learn the different kinds of lifestyles individuals have across the
globe. However, I am scared that my weakness related to the inefficiency of being able to
understand the diversified form of languages will affect my communication skills. However,

my greatest strengths lie in fast learning capability, and I will be able to gather the knowledge
soon and turn my weakness into a potential advantage. In addition to this, I am very particular
about the deadlines I am given in any specified tasks and completing the same within the
stipulated time. This strength of mine will help me get my tasks and activities fulfilled on
time during my course period and, in turn, get my course study get completed with efficiency
and effectiveness.
The role-play in which I usually find myself in group work is the cultural head of the
same. This is because I always find myself maintaining the cultural aspects of the group and
letting the group understand the importance of inter-culture issues. Nevertheless, I indulge
various exciting facts in my nature that helps in influencing my personality as well as my
career and its opportunities. I enjoy spending my leisure time reading, playing sports as well
as writing. I also enjoy watching movies as well as listening to music sometimes. I adore
travelling to various places and explore the different kinds of culture that exist all around the
globe. Concerned to the study course, before entering into the same, I had started an
independent study on the same before-hand.
