INTRODUCTION
The organisation behaviour is very important in order to study various aspects of
individual who is working under business enterprise. It is very essential to determine the
behaviour of people interact within the group. The theory and various approaches of
organisational behaviour can be used by human resource manger in order to develop
understanding of individual behaviour at workplace. With the help of this entity can run its
activities in more significant manner. To make this process effective it is required to behave
professionally so that firm can achieve its desired objectives. It can be understood with the three
concept are as-behaviour of organisation, its individual and work group who is engaged in
business activities. The various theories are to be adopted to gave the impressive working
environment. It is very essential to maximise the profit so that firm is able to maintain strong
brand image in market. The overall success of the business enterprise dependent on the human
resource action of firm. In this present report the activities of BBC is taken into consideration in
order to explain various theories and concepts related to organisational behaviour. The firm is
settled art very larger part. This report will help to identify the importance of organisation
behaviour in order to know the efficient working of individual. The behaviour of human are
having large impact on the growth of business enterprise. The manager of the BBC is taking
various effective steps with regard to expand the business activities of firm by managing the

P1 A) Earlier Organisation Culture in BBC
According to Charles handy model there are three types of organisation culture that can
be adopted by BBC. These are Power, Role, Task and person culture.
Power culture-BBC can use this type of culture in order to respond quickly to situation. This
type of culture increases the dependent of enterprise on their employees to solve various critical
and complex issues. The kind of organisational culture intends to attract power orient ended and
political minded people. This culture have focus on inviting those people who have power to

Role culture-In role culture position is the main power source. The individual is being selected
on the basis of their ability to perform task in effective manner.
Task Culture-This type of culture is based on culture and nature of job. This type of culture

organisation. Person culture emphasize on individual. It aims to provide support to individual in
order to fulfil their interest without overriding objective.

culture as the people having the power may be partial towards employees. They do not listen to

their performance. The effective team consists of those competent members that can

Tuck man and Jensen's model : In this model there are phases of group development that
includes forming – storming – norming – performing. These stages support the teams to grow, to
face new challenges, to deal with different problems and identify the proper solution, plan in
work and also in delivering the results.

The aim of this theory is to eliminate the factors of dissatisfaction in team members and creating
condition's of job satisfactions.
According to this theory team leader is required to have focus on various problems that
are being faced by team members when working in group. It is essential for leader to ensure
coordination among various group member in order to avoid any king of misunderstanding and
confusion among subordinates (Piaget, 2013)
The path goal theory explains a leadership style or behaviour that
assists leader in providing benefit to employees and developing effective working enviroment in
order to achieve desired outcome. The objectives of this concept is to support leader or human
resource manager in identifying the ways for improving workers motivational level and
supporting employees in becoming productive for business. Path goal theory states that effective
leader provides clear direction, sets high objectives, and also contributes in achievement of team
goals. Such leaders have supportive behaviour. This model is based on expectancy hypothesis in
which an individual act in a certain manner which is dependent on expectation that the act will
be followed by a given conclusion and on the attractiveness of that result to person. As per this
theory leaders choose specific behaviour or attitude on the basis of team members needs and
requirement of situation. This behaviour assist leaders in becoming effective and aid them in
improving team performance.

to take active participation in group activities and increasing their contribution in achieving

P 4 B) Main barriers to effective performance
There are various barriers to effective performance. These barriers include Unclear
strategy and conflicting priorities, An ineffective senior team, Leadership style, Poor horizontal
coordination and ineffective communication, Inadequate leadership, management skills, poor
close vertical communication.
It has been identified in BBC organisation that effectiveness of team is mainly influenced
by team leader and its leadership Style. Lack of effective and talented team leader has great
impact on team performance, values and their commitment towards strategy of firm. This has
further lead to lack of trust and coordination among team members(Patty Mulder 2014.)
The various other barriers to effective performance are:
Emotional barriers-It is a form of barrier that are evolved from the mistrust that forms from the
workers' at workplace which stops person to effectively communicate with other. Due to this
type of emotions the worker may feel reserved, insecure and emotionally weak when working in
organisation.
Perceptual barriers-This is the form of barriers in which individual faces' problem, in interacting
with other people. Perceptual barriers have great effect on employees' performance and
confidence level that is required to execute particular activity or task.
Cultural barriers-These factors have great influence or impact on workers' performance. As
employees belong to different cultural background or region may have unique working pattern
and method. Due to these factors , individual may face difficulty in adopting the new method of
working which could have direct effect on workers' performance at workplace.
CONCLUSION
The report has successfully demonstrated the influence of culture, politics and power on
the behaviour of employees. It has concluded that employees' behaviour is high effected by the

culture and trend in society. The project has concluded that motivation plays very significant role
in encouraging worker to increase their contribution in achieving organisational goals.
It has suggested various ways through which enterprise can develop effective team.
Research has provided various strategies that could be adopted by leader for improving team
performance. It has recommended various ways to increase motivational level in employees.
