Introduction
The need for managing organisational change is based on the prospect of developing
challenges that the business environment presents to the companies and the management
develops techniques to mitigate issues that hinder the fluency of operations. It is necessary
for institutions to develop business strategies for developing business operations that would
improve the profitability for the organisation in the business environment (Hayes, 2018). The
study would identify the various drivers of change within the business environment and the
ways the leadership and managerial decisions are influenced due to the changing business
environment.
The following study would provide a comprehensive outline of the influence of change on
organisational strategy and operations. An effective evaluation of the drivers of change on the
organisational behaviour for both the organisations experiencing change would be performed
in the study. Further, the influence of change barriers on the decision-making process of
leaders within the business entities would be determined. Finally, leadership approaches such
as situational leadership and Lewin’s change management model would be applied in order to
enhance operational fluency for Golden Wonder for effective change management.

Introduction
This part will provide a comparative report on the impact of organisational change faced two
organisation named as Golden Wonder and AFGA Corporate. In addition, PEST analysis of
both this organisation will be done to compare their organisational change effectively.
1. An introduction to the drivers and impacts of change and its effects on organizational
strategy
Having a change in the organisation is vital for improving the brand position and value of the
business and gain attention from more customers. Every organisation tries to implement
change in the workplace in order to enhance productivity and business efficiency. However,
business that undergoes from rapid change is also not effective because employees have to
work as per the changing working structure frequently. Drivers such as TQM, Kazan’s
approach, and others are used for implementing better structure in organisation culture and
working practices.
This part will discuss the impact of changes that have taken place in organisations such as
Golden Wonder and AGFA Corporate. For example, the concept of bringing new digital
technology in AGFA would require the organisation to bring change in its strategy. The
managers of the organisation will need to establish new ways of working techniques in order
to enhance the use of technology. With the new change in the organisation of “Gone Digital”,
the company is able to satisfy millions of customers at a time. Hence, it can be said that there
is a huge change in the business as the company is able to provide better product possibilities
along with better flexibility and choices to the customers.
On the other hand, in the food company, Golden Wonder, it has been found that changes have
been done in product development due to the desires of consumers towards healthy eating.
Hence, the company is trying to add healthy ingredients to the snacks and other food items.
For this purpose, the business has made a change in organisational strategy by reducing the
amount of fat in the product.
2. An overview of the organisation case studies
AGFA-Gevaert Group is one of the leading organisations in the imaging industry. Recently,
it has undergone a technological change in the organisation in order to drive innovation. As
per the case study, it is found that Imaging is the growing market and implementing new
technology would help the company in driving business transformation. The new technology

is found to be quite innovative and is cheaper. Hence, it can be assumed that this technology
would help the business to grow its market in an increasing manner. The case study has
shown that the company is taking full benefits of the digital revolution to grow the market
capabilities of the business. The company has divided its operation into three different
segments such as consumer imaging, graphic system and technical imaging. In the case of
consumer imaging, the company is able to provide wide range of products with the help of
the new digital and analogue technologies for processing and manipulating printing
photographs (LLP, 2019). On the other hand, in the graphics system, electronic and
photograph process along with workflow management has been developed. In the segment of
technical imaging, new x-ray equipment and use of non-destructive fault testing are used for
testing pipelines and aircraft.
Golden Wonder is a British food company that is famous for selling snacks items to the
customers. In the case study, it is found that customers are becoming health conscious, for
this purpose, the company has started using natural products for adding more nutritional

in the operational strategies for the management of Agfa. Decisions to develop their products
as per the changing market of the food industry influenced the internal operations for the
management at Golden Wonder as well. The following section would provide a
comprehensive understanding of the ways changing business environment influenced the
internal operations for the companies.
Agfa implemented the decision to incorporate better technological advancements in their
production strategy for developing digital solutions in the imaging industry. The company
had to develop their internal operations and strategies for gaining better investment
opportunities in developing their research and development strategies. The company
managed to increase their R&D investment to £224 million that was accountable to 4% of
their sales revenue (Agfa Corporate, 2019). The change in business environment of seeking

enhanced the operational fluidity for both the organisations and improved their scope of
conducting business operations efficiently. The management of Agfa applied the tenets of
situational leadership in aligning the internal organisational objectives as per the
requirements of the customers. The application of effective situational leadership enabled the
management of Agfa to recognise the fluctuating needs of the employees and developed

From part 1, it is understood that both the company are able to implement new changes that
have helped the company in having enhanced profit and identity in their specific industry.

Golden wonder is a British origin company that deals in the production of the snack foods,
especially crisps. The notable products of Golden war are Ringos, Transform-A-Snack and so
on (Shop, B., 2019). William Alexander, a Scottish bakery in the year 1947 in Stockbridge,
initially founded the company. During the time of origin, the company had five
manufacturing units. Out of this five, four manufacturing sites were involved in the
production of the crisps. This crisp manufacturing unit was present in Scotland and England.
The fifth site that is Welsh at Crumlin was involved in the production of Pot Noodles. The
company in 1991owing to the changes in the policies related to the nutritional status of the
snacks and other products led to the development of a new product termed as golden light.
The snacks with this name were less than 100 calorie (Goldenwonder.com, 2019.)
2. Application of force field analysis to determine opposition and support for change
Force field analysis is a framework that helps in analysing whether a change to be done by an

associated with both favourable and restraining forces that are discussed below:
